You said it right in your reply... these wolves hunt the crap out of native animals, thus knocking the balance out of wack. See your 2nd to last sentence of the reply. How is it healthy for an apex predator not native to the region to kill the prey, domesticated animals, ect? Eventually the wolves will kill too much, thus not having prey and they will start to die off, but then they will start venturing into areas where humans reside to forage for food.

Room temperature IQ confirmed

They’re not a natural predator, and the lengths humans went to in order to ensure they flourished has created a wolf population boom the local ecosystem can’t sustain

The same thing happens in some lakes, a non native alpha fish is introduced and starts to wreak havoc on the less alpha fish, thus knocking the system out of wack.

Except that, you know, what you're stating is directly contrary to the opinions of actual ecologists and biologists studying the issue. The reintroduction of wolves to yellowstone has greatly restored the ecosphere of the park. There's an entire documentary about this.

And enough with this nonsense of "THE WOLVES WIPE OUT THE NATIVE SPECIES!!!". That's just not true. You're repeating a lie. Predator and prey populations fluctuate back and forth in response to one another. When the predator populations grow too large, the prey populations are too little to sustain them and they die off. When the prey populations are large, the predators population grows. And so on and so forth.

This is the natural state of things. You're repeating lies and ignorance because you don't know any better.

They were brought in to manage the rising elk population, which had been overgrazing much of the park, but their effect went far beyond that. In this film, The Nature Conservancy’s lead scientist Dr M Sanjayan, Dr Valerie Kapos of the UN Environment Programme and animal behaviourist Kirsty Peake describe how the returning wolves dramatically changed the park’s rivers, forests – and the landscape itself.

Preliminary data from studies indicate that wolf recovery will likely lead to greater biodiversity throughout the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

First age 48 troll that I actually agree with in awhile.

Also can't fault your logic in this thread.

I remember when I posted in the poaching-Africa thread years back and had death threats and all sorts of messages sent my way. All because I talked about big game hunting and how much money was spent and how the money was then turned into salaries for game-scouts and people like me who went around and arrested poachers in the bush. People lost their fcking minds. I've never had so many death threats at one time in my life. It was crazy.

My dad's bosses wife had 2 as pets. She was a biologist who raised them as pups when they were found abandoned.

Enormous animals. Docile with their friends but holy chit, when they went on defense mode they were scary. Would never have wanted to approach their door as a stranger

That’s not true at all. Everyone living here has seen the mess this has caused first hand. It is a complete chit showBECAUSE THEY REINTRODUCED THE WRONG SPECIES OF WOLF....but of course it doesn’t say that In that cute little article you posted. It was a completely failed attempt and everybody knows it. Idaho is spending 2 million$ Of tax payer money to hit the wolves hard, state governments are encouraging people to trap and are handing out snares. Most animals are like that. I remember I thought raccoons were supposed to be some small cute mofos next thing I know I'm taking garbage out in uni and then I see this raccoon looking the size of a labrador retriever on the top of the dumpster and then I said nope naw I'll take this out some other time....

Oh look, another fukking moron that has no clue what hes talking about and gets his talking points from propaganda pushed by clueless small state conservatives who are bought by the cattle industry.

>a population size of 300 or less renders a population genetically extinct
>the states in question have very small wolf populations. Idaho for example only has 700 wolves. 400 away from extinction.

What if I told your stupid ass your state needed to be culled of humans beings because there was a whopping 700 of them?

Facts and an actual understanding of ecology > your moronic propaganda that's not based on expert opinions or data
