Biking will lower that RHR like crazy. Mine's so low that my samsung app won't measure it (high 30's when sitting at times, think it won't measure under 40bpm). What blows my mind is when I do intense stairstepper cardio or sprints, my HR gets up to above 190 at times. That's literally about 5 times my resting HR, which is crazy.

That's another appealing aspect of running sprints to me, I feel like I can put in so much less effort to feel tired, use oxygen and get my HR up than with biking, since my body's really used to biking often.

Had a high calorie day yesterday, couldn't hold off until designated Friday. Feel amazing today, but a bit tempted to level off the cut. Gonna keep going, but motivation is dying tbh, since I'm relatively satisfied with where I'm at. Not proud of my physique at this stage, but not lacking confidence anymore.

How do you brahs stay motivated to get really cut down?

My motivation comes from the improvements I see with every lb lost. I feel like I finally have enough muscle to where I can be lean and not feel small, so I no longer have those days where I feel tiny.

Looking like I didn't lift hampered past cutting attempts, and competing in powerlifting meant losing strength was giving me anxiety.

Now I don't care about strength as much (I still do, just not PL levels), and I have a desire to see a full, true 6 pack before I turn 30 this year.

I agree with you. For years I only did squats and deadlifts for abs............LOL boy did I learn my lesson late, last 6 months I've been hitting abs seperately and I think it has shown some results. But I'm still way too fat to see any abs at 183. I'm 5'10 btw.

In on this. Cant believe that I didnt see this thread before. Been cutting for 6 weeks now. Down to 162lbs from 170. Entering Twinkk mode and its fuking with my head lol. Not looking to get dickskin shredded but 11-12% would be ideal.

Guys, I have a thing I never had before. My last two abs are in a small pouch when I flex that is separate from the rest of my stomach. To describe how it looks, it kinda looks like a single ab.

I'm excited men.

Anyone else noticing strength fluctuating a lot when you're really careful with your diet? Last year hit a PR on bench and repped it 4 times. Today I gassed even before that weight - same workout. Honestly energy levels are flagging a bit. Will just try to eat/sleep more...

On the upshot I'm having that shoulder definition now...visible even without flexing. Getting there brahs just a bit slowly.

I think a big part is a change in leverages from losing that cushiony fat that helped up move weight, not to mention the added stability from weighing more. the strength always comes back with the fluff.

Good job on the definition. Maybe one day you'll grace us with pics.

Alright a little bit of update on me..

This morning marked the first day of a minicut. Downed a cup of black coffee, went in and did some fasted cardio for 30 mins then went to directly hit abs, neck, forearms, and traps. Eating waffles and eggs typing this up atm.

If I was on here a few years ago I'd get flamed for not bulking and instead probably get laughed at for being a cutting pussy twink (srs). But anyway - I decided I wanted to be lean and agile this summer. I was hit with the feels the past few weeks unsure of where to go from there. Strength went up on all my lifts and I got up to 160 lbs but obviously a lot of that is fat considering I was in the 140s about 5 weeks ago. My face is significantly chubbier, and my abs are less lean (albeit they're much leaner than when I was previously at this weight)

The hot weather's starting to kick back in and it's starting to feel closer and closer to summer (lol @ letting weather decide your plans amirite?) and I just feel better being leaner. Won't post any pics yet but I'll post them once I'm done with a quick shred then it'll be to a maintenance for the rest of the summer. I promised myself I'd give myself a 7-8 months of bulking once summer ends so I'm looking forward to that.

Not gonna lie for the past 2 weeks I woke up, told myself I'd get back to cutting, then by lunch time I ate a chit load of food and decided I need to bulk lmao. A different approach I'm doing this time around is to increase my activity and do more athletic work (much like the HS athletes) so that my TDEE is slightly higher. I'm going to keep calories as high as possible and hopefully when it's all said and done I won't have to dip back in the 1700 calorie range for a long, long time.

How's everyone else doing?

Yeah, the strength gains just get so addicting lmao. Shoving food down the throat seems primal too.

I actually plan on being active this summer unlike last year where I was sedentary for the most part. My bucketlist includes learning how to swim (srs, don't know how to swim) and also signing up for martial arts class. I'm also gonna start up basketball again.

Honestly with all the heat coming down and everything looking bright and sunny it feels like ass being anything BUT shredded

I want to increase my activity on the next bulk also. No more excuses. Gotta keep up my cario and walks. Good to be overall healthy ya know? Will also help cut back on some of the inevitable fat gain, which at 29, is no longer hard to gain.

Good post, repped hard. Feeling the same way, especially trying to get the cut really underway but always telling myself I have anther week or 2 since I just wanna be lazy and eat a lot.

I have exactly 3 weeks from Friday until my graduation & vacation, and want to be leaner than I am rn. Weighing about 196-198 rn, want to be in 180s for vacation and even lower afterwards into summer. Been doing PSMF but can't stick to it recently, always lose motivation once I get decently lean. Bit fatter than AVI pic currently, maybe 3-4 pounds heavier. Want to take it all the way since I feel like I finally have the muscle beneath it.

I'm sure some guys on here have noticed I disappear frequently towards the end of cuts on threads since I tend to say fcuk it. Seriously, such a small percent of girls who lift and stay in shape seriously who aren't shallow shells, and if I'm honest I cut for only a couple reasons: face & ab gains for females, and being lighter for sports and running for myself. Neither is a strong drive, so when I lose motivation for one, it kills me. Walked into the gym the other day (university gym, massive so hundreds lifting nearly all times), and legit felt like I was wasting my time, weird feeling after lifting for nearly 8 years.

In a rough spot since I know even if I get shredded, I still need to change something mentally or in 2 months after I'll just be where I am now again.

A few years back I had a big lifting crisis. Was already married, so I wasn't trying to attract anyone. Was getting strong but had no outlet. I eventually started competing in powerlifting, and it helped give me purpose in lifting and rekindled my love for it.

I'm on that aesthetics time now, but PL was fun while I was at it.

Competing may be just the change you need. Ever thought about doing a show/meet?

I used to be into strength, but I've had knee surgery and a few other issues and injuries to where I don't prioritize strength gains anymore. As for competing, I have considered it, but I have a defect in my right bicep/chest; I'm not sure exactly what it is, but my right bicep has a very very high insertion, and is weaker than my left (~30-40% weaker); same with my chest, and I can't activate it very well. My coracobrachialis takes over both curls and chest movements. Bums me out every time I try to bench or curl. I'll show you guys what I'm talking about sometime soon. Isn't a huge hitch to competing, but I feel like I can't properly train chest because of it, can't even really rep 225, and flyes are so hard to use my chest on. Really frustrating considering I love lifting but can't train chest or biceps to grow much because of this. I'd still consider competing, perhaps once I figure out the next few months since I'm graduating but don't have a job yet.

My favorite sport is running track, but it's a rare thing where almost no adults do it anymore aside from pro athletes. Like where am I supposed to find a amateur track league to run sprints in? That's something I'd look into if I ever got to a larger city, which would probably motivate me to stay lean.

Legit just looked into open track events on directathletes.com, and might start training for a 55 or 60m considering some of the times I'm seeing from past winners

also muzzlr would rep but on spread

Das it mane. Haven't loved running since HS. I'm trying to get into walking more at least. I generally bike in the gym, and I have been walking around the mall on lunch breaks. Sign up and kill it. Nothing like training for a tangible goal.

Thanks man, as soon as a nearby opportunity presents itself I'm gonna look into it and start working my general leg tendon/etc. strength up in the meantime.

I recently got into biking also. Can't stand it for too long at a gym, but I got a road bike off CL and when the weather is cool and roads are empty in early mornings, combined with a lazy day ahead, long bike rides are amazing. Love riding several miles to a state park close by and walking around for an hour or so before riding back, so pleasant. Need to get back into that but it's heating up here in Texas, yesterday almost hit 90 degrees. That glimpse into the ol' 6 month summer was painful.

Have to avoid Costco from now until this cut is over. Went to restock on food. Smelled dat GOAT food court food and stopped for a hotdog, regular, pepsi, and 2 churros. Does this count as a refeed lol?

Weight keeps fluctuating from 215-219 although cuts are still coming through. I love honestly been eating too many carbs when I buy yogurt, granola and granola cereal. Itโ€™s so freaking good but I can binge on it easily

Itโ€™s all good Brodie just get back in there and hit it hard. Now gonna lie when I see myself gain a little weight from cheating and not lifting I go into panic mode and hit it hard the next day.

There is significantly reduced bloodflow to my penis when I consume low carbs.

Haven't taken this seriously enough. Okay let's do this, start of cut:

Flexed, want to get back to AVI and be tighter unflexed. Goal: -10lbs, then re-evaluate.

You look good to me (srs, no homo) but at the same time I know what you mean.

I am using this thread and the photos to push harder than I ever have before. Even considered doing some "vanity" work, hah.
