Don't be afraid of the loud socks.Just don't also wear a loud tie. I get all sorts of compliments about my socks. Generally never wear plain jane black/brown, non-patterned socks. Now not all of them are loud, just not standard issue black/brown.

However, you also have to know your audience.

Agree on the sandals and socks. Oof.

Also disagree on the suit without a tie. Depending on the situation, it works and is a casual yet dressed up look.

A proper well-fitting suit should not be worn with a belt. In fact a bespoke or even a decent MTM suit often won't even have belt loops, with side adjusting tabs preferred instead (I know this because I own one).

Sounds like excuses for not being able to get your suit tailored correctly. Can agree to disagree. If I'm boing to bay 4 digits for a suit, it better fit like a glove.

GQ also endorsed the skinny tie at one point. So that makes it gospel?

This is my number one fashion pet peeve. The biggest mistakes I see are clothing that doesn't fit or tryhards.

If your shirt is untucked, it should fall somewhere around your crotch.
