He was the one that invented his sexuality brah. He shouldn't have created him that way if he didn't want people to ask lol.

Out of the hopes of seeing Luke Skywalker be awesome in a Star Wars movie one last time (and my first/only time seeing him on the big screen besides the Star Wars 7 ending), I wasted my money seeing The Last Jedi in theaters. As others have said ITT, the Dinsey movies aren't even Star Wars anymore, but a seperate franchise entirely at this point. The one thing the crappy prequels had going for them was that they at least had the feel of Star Wars films to them, with some redeeming memories about them here and there. The Disney movies are just garbage all around.

That's the foundation Rey is built on, and she's the weakest form of character..... a Mary Sue. Compare that to Leia who is universally adored by SW fans and had similar strength but only after facing adversity.
Maybe i should feel insulted, but funnily enough, I don't. Sorry to disappoint.

I'm sure the black brahs on the misc are offended by black characters too. The horror.

Are you even reading what I am writing, or have provided? They have only shown deadpool fukking females. Yet in a throw away answer in a random interview, where he states he was sick of people asking (which most likely means the people asking were the ones wishing he was gay) and he didn't want to seem like a homophobe by saying he's straight (which he clearly is based on who he has actually fukked) he says "He is NO sex and ALL sexes" just to get people to fukk off already. Yet the storylines continue with him slaying pucci.

Sexuality isn't about who you fuk. I knew I was a **** long before I ever done anything with a guy and evenduringmy 3 relationships with females.

Anyways, I'm not debating about whether a fictional character isn't straight or not. It's widely known and accepted that he isn't strictly straight. Who gives a damn?

Have you seen Deadpool 2 and how gay he is with colossus? Vanessa even jokingly warns deadpool not to fuk colossus.

This. Jar Jar, midichlorians, ridiculous scripts, terrible acting (Hayden, looking at you)... The prequels were absolute dog chit in every way.

Obviously I don't care if you find enjoyment in something, I'm not here to take away someone's enjoyment.

But you're oversimplifying what I'm saying. Identity politics poses itself as a movement for these minority groups when it's just shallow surface level pandering devoid of any substance or logic. I'm sure your criteria for a good character isn't just that he aligns with your political beliefs. The character has to have an arc and perform well.

That's what I'm talking about, you don't win me over just because the actor has the same skin color as me.

Star Wars died with Leia flying through space and then the casino planet spit on the raped remains.

Why care anymore?

No, like I've already stated ITT, my whole life I have consumed TV shows, books and films containing only heterosexual relationships and I still have huge enjoyment out of them. However when I do see a gay character it makes me feel more accepted for some reason. I've said for years on the misc about how much of an impact Spartacus had on me making me feel less like an alien. That show was one of the main reasons I stopped the self destructive nonsense.

If episode three wasn't the last Star Wars film you could bother stomaching, I don't know what to tell you. The force awakens threw it right in your face what you were getting.

They're gonna taint the **** out Lord of the rings in the next few years.

That he's some droid fuker is the most ridiculous part of it. Star Wars isn't exactly Blade Runner or Westworld. The droids literally look like tin cans.

And I don't really know why Lucianus is getting so worked up over this. Would a lot of these guys still be complaining if they just introduced a new gay character? Yeah. This is a pretty homophobic place (while also having a lot of closet ****s). But that in itself doesn't invalidate the ridiculousness of making Lando a "pansexual."

Fockin little bish, sending the subpoena to Under, Chad right now.

But sure... people just react different. I just told this to my boss who's gay and he laughed and shook his head. Like I said though, homosexual/trans characters are well received when written like any other character - properly and in the context of the IP. Sure you get the odd wacko crying about ****s but screw that guy. It's when you switch it up on fans where it's annoying and wherever people react badly.

In this case - the IP was a rich, slick character who was gambling buddies with Han and had the hots for his girl. He was kinda like how alot of guys wish they could be - ballsy enough to go for any girl. Then Disney decided to fuk with it. The outrage is worst because people are fed up with Disney's story choices for SW.

Yeah and like i said, i'm sorry that you feel like you can't identify with that character anymore but thats been my whole life in 99% of films/shows and books.

You just have to be mature enough to not give a fuk and appreciate the character for other reasons. Thats why I find this outrage so silly and why I'm in this thread. You're explaining my entire experience with film but instead of it beingeverythingwith me, it's one character for you. Plus you don't even know how his sexuality is going to be portrayed and like i've said repeatedly, pansexual men fall in love with women.

It's like you didn't even read the post. I said the prequels sucked.

Good things about the prequels:

1. Darth Maul, though used poorly and killed off way too soon
2. Anakin vs. Obi-Wan in 3
3. Jango Fett
4. Podracing scene

But yeah, other than those things, they were bad. Still significantly better than the new Disney movies.

Thing is, that for example in Spartacus - best show ever -, being gay wasn't treated as a trait that defines a character. For example, Barca and Pietros - and then Gnaeus - actually had personalities, amazing character arcs (Barca tasked with killing the kid, lying to Pietros, then later getting killed, Pietros got lied to, got raped by Gnaeus who then got killed by Spartacus) played major parts in the story and actually "served" one of the crucial events leading up to the rebellion led by Spartacus. And they happened to be gay lovers. By the way.

Nowadays its "hey, he/she is *insert random skin color/sexuality* because we're progressive yo, and that's it.

so im not sure why people

1. be star wars fans
2. admit this fact aloud
3. view all three prequels
4. ever watch another star wars film in a legitimately critical way, with any expectations of anything positive whatsoever

the franchise was bodybagged when greedo shot first.

Chit this doesn't affect how I think of Lando one bit. The whole point of most people's ranting is Disney been hit or miss and is now using a beloved IP to appease Hollywood with how "progressive" they are. I got no problems looking at the bigger story but that's what I'm saying - when you take away the inclusion-rider mask, there's not much substance there.

I struggle to even associate these films with the OT anymore, between what they did with Leia, Luke, the galaxy (rebel vs empire reboot, like the first never happened), and finally this. It just looks like a parallel universe to me.

If you find enjoyment from them tho that's great, because I wish I could.

Glad you enjoy Spartacus brah. It will forever be in my heart and I plan to rewatch it throughout the rest of my life.

Personally though, it was a defining factor for me. I'm not gonna lie. It was a huge deal for me. Obviously not for you because you couldn't care less for obvious reasons.

And you do that by making someone who was known for something (a brave warrior, a ladies man, the hero who never gave up) and make them the opposite. A coward, panseuxal or a whining quitter.
The much more important point is that they're doing this with real life too, not just characters in books and movies. Do a little reading on the Frankfurt School and head down that rabbit hole. The whole goal of the left (n.b., 'left' and 'right' do not refer to Democrats and Republicans; LOL at you if you divide people along those lines for any serious purposes; most of the GOP are on the left) is to dismantle the institutions that made/make Western Civilization great and to debase our heroes (using a variety of means like accusing them of various misdeeds, of having some deviant sexual predilection, etc.). You can see similar things happening where great books and movies are banned from schools, and where classic aesthetic art is replaced with 'modern' bullchit devoid of any artistic value. All the European explorers and leaders are portrayed as horrible people who ruined the rest of the world (instead of what they really did, which was to drag most of the world out of the Stone Age and into the light).

There is a LOT of victimhood in this thread and yes I might be partaking in it, but we all need to grow up and get a thicker skin. I'm admitting I'm being beta right now by being offended when someone calls me a ****phile, at least you can admit you're offended because films aren't catering to your every emotional need.
You're missing the point, probably because your emotional response is blinding you to what people are actually concerned with. People are angered by what I described above, not about the fact that gays exist and sometimes appear in movies and TV. To the extent people are angered by the actual presence of gays (and similarly-situated small minorities) in movies and TV, it's only because they are dramatically over-represented in many cases, and they're over-represented for the reason I described above. You don't have to hate gays or any other similar minority to realize that forcing an alternate reality on young people is done for the express purpose of weakening our civilization. A growing number of people are not prepared to tolerate the adulteration of the West and the replacement of its people.

I struggle to even associate these films with the OT anymore, between what they did with Leia, Luke, the galaxy (rebel vs empire reboot, like the first never happened), and finally this. It just looks like a parallel universe to me.

If you find enjoyment from them tho that's great, because I wish I could.
I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars anyway. I'm a visual person and I don't particularly like the aesthetics of Star Wars.

the franchise was bodybagged when greedo shot first.
Because Disney actually seemed to (had to) cater to old school fans when they started to hype TFA - read: people who actually had fond memories and money -, then they proceeded to chit on them with the sequels and call them immature manchildren when they complained.
