Man I was really enjoying this show right up until the part they turned the latino kid into a POS "dirty" fighter and suddenly Johnny's kid was Mr Angel. That was some bs....they basically just wanted to recreate the movie but they didn't need to do that. The latino kid's turn didn't fit with his character at all, it kinda ruined the show for me....if they continue down that path for season 2 I'll probably stop watching.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

Just finished the series yesterday, loved episode 9 where Johnny and Daniel are hanging out, and sort of bonding, having drinks. Johnny telling his student about how Daniel supposedly stole Ali from him, dying with laughter.

It was done a little awkward but I personally thought it was an interesting twist, because now we're going to see Daniel's daughter get involved and become his opponent. If only she doesn't become the Mary-Sue of the story.

It made perfect sense as the show is very much about showing not everything is black and white and able to clearly discern who is good and who is bad.

As far as Miguel being a dirty fighter in the tournament, he is just learning how to manage his new abilities and was fighting the same kid he thought he caught with his girlfriend twice.

I disagree....from the start Miguel was always the one to call Johnny out when he was going too far, he essentially provided the balance Daniel is always talking about to Johnny's extreme ways. He showed a maturity to understand what Johnny was talking about but also know that there's a line that shouldn't be crossed. Furthermore from the start they always showed him as a happy kid that came from a loving home, there wasn't really any dark side ever displayed by him (unlike Robbie). They could have done it a lot better imo, the way they executed it was poor.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

Legit felt motivated to do some round house kicks in the front yard after binge watching this show last weekend.

The kid in me wanted rejoin karate and start my own dojo. Instead I just crushed some Coors Original.

Best new series in a long time, my only gripes with it:

Johnny takes the bike after the car burning at night. He gets to Daniel San's house, about what, a half hour tops, in the morning?

HBK Jr/Robby Lawrence and Sam leave the house when he feigns an injury around dusk. They get to the party hours later? That's another what, 45 minute drive, and its dark and everyone is already drunk?

That’s what I did... read the fine print though, iirc you have to cancel within 7 days of starting avoid being charged. You’ll still have it for 30 days though.

Just slammed the whole series today Holy GOAT AF!!

Hit me in the feels. Karate Kid was one of the first movies I remember going to watch at the theater as a kid.
Watched it 100's of times with my own kids and we all just watched it together today.

The nostalgia hits us 80's kids hard.

I dont know about the longevity of this series, not sure if season 2 can beat this. Im still processing what I just watched!!
