FCG pins can easily walk out when springs aren't installed correctly.

Definitely the trigger pin. Hammer pins is just a set and go.

There's a set detent in the hole of the hammer. I seen some detents that were set so far back, the pins just fell right through (thus getting anti-walk is a must), and I had others set so far in the middle of the hole, I had to take a tiny allen wrench to the opposite side to move it back to push the pin through.

that was my first thought was the springs weren't installed the right way round

I've never had pins walk or multi shot bursts and I always study those springs bc I could see how it would be easy to put the hammer spring on backwards

A backwards hammer spring will usually cause a light strike. Not enough force hitting the firing pin to cause a discharge. You make get 1 or two discharges, but totally unreliable.

What antiwalkout pins should I grab? I just took out the hammer and I’m going to watch videos on what to pay attention to that could be wrong. My first time taking out a hammer and I used a damn lead pencil and my hand to pull out the pin.

You can get anti-walk for as low as $5 (ebay) or up to $30. Depends on your budget. They are simple concept. What you do want is fit, and I find even the cheapest ones have tight tolerances. Also, any anti-walk pins worth their salt should have a taper assist screw. This helps bypass the internal hammer detent. It's also why regular pins are rounded at the ends.

Once you have the hammer out, check the retention of the pin into the hammer. It's should click on the center groove of the pin. If it slides in and out easily, then you definitely need anti-walk pins or a new hammer (better just go with pins).

FYI, when inserting the hammer pin ALWAYS go smooth end first. If you insert the grove end first, the internal hammer detent will catch the first groove. When it comes to the trigger pin, it doesn't matter, smooth or grove end first.

Using a pencil is fine. You are simply pushing a pin out.

So.. this pin goes straight through and falls out of the hammer no matter what way I put in the pin.

Most people have suggested KNS. I might just grab those. My CCL instructors coworker who helped put my hand guard onto my AR (if you guys recall) asked what I was doing today. Either he wants to give me pins and check it out or wants to fix it so we can go shooting lol. Win win regardless

Academy has black freedom rifles on display complete with standard capacity magazines for efficient spreading of freedom seeds


And some decently priced ammo for a brick and mortar chain. And they are still offering free shipping for ammo if you order online, with online only specials sometimes for cheaper than in store. Right now there's Blazer Brass .40 180gr at $60/250 which is pretty decent, that's the same price as Lawman 180 with Prime at target sports (tax for academy as they are in state, and Lawman is better than blazer brass, but that's still really close considering)

$150 for 420 rounds Federal XM193 on strippers in ammo can (.35 per plus tax)

going to the range today with a guy that owns a P320, PPQ, TP9, VP9, P10C, Glock 19 (Fifth gen), and an M2.0c

We're going to do accuracy tests from a rest at 15 yds with about 25 rounds in each, and see which ones the best.

I have my picks but i'll reserve judgement.
