I like the idea of having 15 rounds with a 9mm
but 7 rounds ish with a 45 is a turn off but I like the stopping power.

If I have to shoot someone.. I dont wana shoot them like 6-8 times untill they drop (Which I have seen in some cop videos ECT). But at the same time its nice knowing you have 15 rounds in the clip. Its a hard decision for me. Can anyone help me decide.

Bad News

My Instant Pot snapped a small weld on the ring inside the lid. Broke when I was cleaning it and removing the sealing ring. Must have had a poor weld and/or got the wrong amount of pressure in a bad spot. I dont think it would be a huge impact to it working, but would have been a weak spot that could have caused issues eventually with the seal.

Good News

Emailed them and they are shipping a new lid under warranty. So I'll have a brand new one and another as a backup/parts.

My preference based on tests and real world results is standard pressure HST in 124 or 147.

Gold Dot I'd still go 124+P. Nothing wrong with the +P HST either, and an older but proven and well priced is the Federal 9BPLE which doesn't open as consistently as HST/Gold Dot and doesn't do as well with intermediate barriers but the real world street results don't lie (it's a 115 +P+ Hi Shok bullet)
Thankfully I was able to get hold of more boxes of 124gr Gold Dots but at this point, I'd also be just fine with the V-Crown 124gr bullets I got from Midway. Now I just need to work up a load that should be effective through my P365 and would guarantee they'll be even better through my M&P.

I was wondering if it might be possible to have the broken "foot" re-welded to fix it . . . and maybe beef up the others. Those feet are pretty small. I would imagine it would work fine as-is and probably for a long time. But I'm pretty surprised they are held on with such a small weld.

This is why my only 45 is an FNX, 15 rounds of 45 ACP. Only ever conceal carried it once (with a light and rmr no less), and would never recommend it for that..but it was cold enough to conceal it. Otherwise I always carry 9mm, VP9 when possible otherwise XDs

I'd have to check the schedule of the pot but looking at it it'd be an easy fix. 316 stainless? Anything metal can be fixed, but it'll end up discolored without being polished.

lol, I knew that would come up. No, they're not identical, but they're close enough that it just doesn't matter.

I guess you would call that marginally different. Which if we're going to be fair, if marginally better to shoot is a pro to 9mm, then marginally better ballistics should be a pro to .40? But marginally easier follow up shots should make a much larger impact than marginally better ballistics for a handgun especially.

There is no appreciable difference in stopping power between .45 and 9mm. Make your decision understanding that both rounds will affect the target very similarly.

i.e. Get 9mm

- Gym now
- Shooting range after
- Possibly beach after that?
- The Glenlivet 12
- Dinner
- More The Glenlivet 12
- ????
