Infinite Universe, infinite Stars, infinite solar systems, infinite planets... Earth is the only special one. Of course there are at least basic lifeforms infinitely scattered across the Universe, but it would be nice to get some hard proof just within our own solar system to shut the idiots up.
Mars once has a closely similar environment to Earth once. I mean, we have people for a long time--in the modern era--that thought water was some special magical thing that only Earth contained. The next few decades is going to be a massive wake up call, it's just a shame we carry so much archaic luggage with us.
Think about it, we need a similar rocky planet outside of our solar system if we ever want to continue as a species, so even if we humor people who think Earth is a magical planet then that means we are all doomed.

It's like saying I have all this iron ore, so it should eventually make an automobile - with enough time and random stimulus.
It's insane.

The US space race was only done because the russians were doing it first, with obvious intentions of militarizing space.
Unless there is a military or monetary advantage to doing it, nothing will happen.

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

not a big deal at all.
If they can find microbes in liquid water (under a very large deep sheet of ice, protected from solor wind and other forms of radiation) on Saturn's moon Titan then that would be the NASAs greatest discovery. The implications would be far reaching and would change the way we veiw everything (religion/human goals & achievements/the universe)
It would 100x more significant than man walking on the moon. THAT would be a big deal.
This tho? it aint ****
