And the small minority of attractive single high earners are basically at the top of the dating game so pretty much all women will compete for them (including younger women).

So it's becomes really hard to beat the competition for those guys, plus there's the added problem that for women income doesn't really add to their desirability like it does for men. Non employed? Lmao strong pass

But yes men don't care about that stuff if you have the same values

Oh, because it's somehow different for high earning men.

Because men should expect to carry the financial burden in the relationship.

Got it.

I was about to say something similar to this, but in a more abrasive manner, hence the "future cat lady" comment.

Rich men have no use for some plain, past her prime (even more so after "she waits a few more years" to start dating again), divorcee.

They have countless options and wont give her the time of day.

I'm in an airport too at 0115 and my flight was delayed to 0300 lol. Might screw with my planned workout at 0800 since my first meeting is at 1000.

Just chiming in tbh since people are going in hard.

Maybe, Rougarou, what might have been easier for some to swallow is "I'm doing really well for myself and expect any partner of mine to be in the same situation" or something like that. I don't want to speak for you and I think I get what you wanted to say but it is the "earns more than I do and I earn a lot" that seems to get some peoples' back up.

Like Tommy said earlier, some very well paid people change careers later on for something more "rewarding" in a different way. I have a lot of respect for people who choose jobs (e.g., paramedic like USRanger on these forums) who do that kind of thing as a vocation. It shows grit and strong values in a way that many lucrative jobs just can't.

I was going to post something similar to this. I'm going to direct this to all of the 40+ year old females on the misc who have a sense of entitlement (you know who you are)

A man who ticks all the boxes you want will have plenty of options other than you. Plenty of options from women are younger, probably make less money (appreciate him more) and probably won't have bank account requirements of him. What specifically do you have to offer him that would make you worthwhile over someone like that?

We all know silencespeaks likes to dodge these sorts of questions so I'm not expecting a response from her. But how about the others? Legz I know you're lurking this thread so plz respond. Srs I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm genuinely curious how this sort of mindset comes about.

Well I'm old and on misc. Don't feel entitled.

Early days and I've mostly just been missing regular sex...some days more than others. Don't know if I want to live with a man again at all and no strong reason to get married at this point since I feel pretty certain kids aren't in my future.

Things I may possibly have over a younger woman?

- experience
- generally calm and low maintenance
- not clingy/needy/jealous/paranoid
- can agree to disagree; don't have to win or be right
- can carry on a reasonable conversation on a wide range of topics
- capable of seeing things from other's point of view

I am plain though, pretty old and over all not too exciting.

But you have admitted your standards are higher than they realistically should be. I would say that fits into an entitlement mentality.

You know maybe the misc will be right and I’ll end up a cat lady because of my attitude, age, looks—whatever. I guess I’ll find out. I’ll make a log in the RH section
It's not about lowering your standards it's about making them realistic. Congrats on your career but it would be chitty to reject a guy because he didn't make enough money when otherwise he would have been good enough. I'm not sure what matching finances or not would say about his character.

Also didn't know you were divorced. You've never really come across as entitled or stuck up so I don't think you would have much problem out there.
