Morning crew -

Was off Monday and Tuesday. Still lifted earlish.... but not 5AM. Training still going well, but I'm definitely starting to feel the low calories during training. Couple more weeks and I can back down to 4x a week training. Goal is to maintain until winter after that.

Cali trip was a mother - 16 hour days. Super productive and had a great time but I have not worked out since last Thursday. I'm not mad at it because I didn't cut any corners, life just piles up sometimes. Took over a new department at work in addition to my current responsibilities, have another 22 people reporting to me now.

I have at least kept the diet in check, did not gain any weight during all the traveling despite being surrounded by airport junk food. Das it mane?

Goodluck man, you getting compensated for the extra workload? Or they just dump it on you?

On another positive note, I was able to rep out 225 for 25 reps on bench the day after shoulder/arm day. I was pretty happy for that. My best ever was 32, so I'm not far off, especially once I cut back my training frequency and up my carbs.

Mornings haven't been the same since I tweaked something in my lower back about two weeks ago. Think the culprit was heavy high bar squats with butt wink. Started some therapy on Monday and slowly feeling better. Hoping a few more weeks of not being stubborn in the gym and avoiding the power racks will do me some good.

Heal up man. Squatting sucks early in the morning. I never feel warmed up unless I do 2-3 exercise before them.

Thanks, brother.

Squats have been a pain. High bar gave me bad tendinitis in my knee so I swapped it for low bar maybe a year ago. Low bar destroys my elbows so I went back to high bar... now this. Was making great progress on squat too.

This is likely a disc issue in my back. Don't think it's fully herniated but definitely a little out of alignment or something. Dealt with a more severe case of this like 4 years ago so at least I know what I need to do to get back into healthy form.

No cash, just a title change. Whatever though, on paper it's a promotion and I've got lots of career ahead of me.

Can't wait to hit a 2 plate bench, mirin hard.

Morning squats suck. I always try to do my main lift first after warming up on the bike but even with starting from open bar and working up squats still feels Batman. If I'm going 3 plates or more I always do some other work first - garage gym crew so I need to be smart.

Good luck on the recovery man.

Happy Monday crew.....well not really....back to wagecuck hell. Horrible chain of events lately..........my grandmother passed last week, my fiancés grandfather had a heart attack Friday and is most likely not going to leave the hospital, and Sunday fiancé had another blood clot issue and had to go to the ER and was in extreme pain all day/night. Doing better this morning thank God.

All while we are trying to finish up details for selling my house for closing on June 5th, and closing on our new house May 30th. Also looks like I missed out on that big promotion at work and they decided to hire from the outside. Been hard keeping a positive attitude lately.

We all gon' make it, brah. I know how you feel with a bunch of terrible chit happening at about the same time as other stressful events like house purchase/sale. That was the second half of 2017 for me. Sorry about your loss(es).

217.2 this morning. 3lbs off my lowest from last year, and this has been with zero cardio and I'm at about 250 calories more than last cut. Couple more weeks to fine tune and try and shred a little more.

Tired AF crew....

Probably should have done a week maintenance this month, but too late now. I have 2 more weeks to fine tune things and push through. Sleep has been suffering immensely. So much chit going on lately between the home buying and family stuff.

First Monday back in the gym doing some sort of squatting workout in about 4 weeks. Likely had/have a slight disc bulge in my lower back that was causing a lot of discomfort.

Basically back to basics and building myself back up. Goal is to run a short 5 week strength program around front squat and block sumo pulls. Taking my time with reps and putting a massive amount of focus on each individual rep and bracing correctly. Hoping by the time I improve on these movements over the next 5 weeks that my back pain will be gone entirely.

Good plan man. Do you use a belt? If not, I would invest in one for sure. If you have a reverse hyper machine I strongly advise using it 2x a week.

Slept like garbage last night. First night in a long time I didn't sleep, but I had a killer leg session anyways.

Happy Monday. Last week of my 8 week cut, first pool party of the season on Saturday. Kinda lame but I’m excited because it’s the culmination of all the work I’ve put in. Plan to maintain most of the summer and start bulking again in September.

Happy Monday brahs.

Late to the early riser party... up @ 4AM daily crew.

TFW can get 200% more work done before the phone starts ringing, customers and manpower start calling in for daily issues and help.
TFW home before half the neighborhood is starting their grueling commutes.
TFW can actually be involved in my kids lives instead of idling on the freeway all day.

Best part about cutting is getting to show it off afterwards! Congrats.

Time with the kids is my main factor in AM training. If I didn't have kids I'd just go after work.

Day crew has fallen off here...

I'm back to doing afternoons on Sunday and evenings on Mondays. Both are my heavy days now that I am done cutting and focusing on strength again. I tested all my 1RMs for the new cycle post cut and came away with a 365 Bench, 545 Deadlift and 425 Squat. The Bench are squat were conservative, I think I had 380 in me for bench, and possibly 455 for squats. I gotta say I'm pretty ecstatic because these are not too far off from my old maxes @ 275. 50lbs lighter and I only lost about 40lbs on Bench and DL....squat feels like I lost nothing really (although I've always sucked at squatting)

I've gone back to the conjugate method, with one day added in for delts/arms and whatever else I may feel like doing.

Today's workout (5:30 am):

400m run
25 back squats @ 75 lbs
25 bench presses @ 65 lbs
400m run
15 back squats
25 bench presses

Crazy that you are a 2013 join date. Glad you're posting regularly man you're one of my favorite "new" posters. I'm tempted to bump my wake up time even earlier - that sounds amazing brah.

30m on the bike this morning - it's a non lifting day but I'm serious about getting lean, have had enough of the dadbod 20% chit. I dropped from 200 to 187 this morning, hoping I can get to 15 without falling below 180, but if I do so be it.

Number one rule of cutting : You are always fatter than you think. Not trying to discourage at all, mirin your progresss, but I learned this lesson the hard way. Whatever you think you need to lose, you have to add 10-15lbs unless you are really in touch with your physique and know it inside and out.

Nice seeing this bumped.

Still not 100% from this disc bulge I've been dealing with but I've luckily improved to where certain motions aren't bothering me. Unfortunately because I'd had to squat variations aside from low bar, my right knee is back to bugging me so I'm likely about to start a heavy sumo and bench programming next week.

Hope everyone is staying on the early morning gainz train!

Morning crew disappear?

I know myself, I've gotten back to more evening workouts since I'm strength training again. Lifting 3RMs early AM is a no go for me, especially squatting. I feel like the tin man trying to move. Workouts have been much better at night. I still hit the early AM for my Dynamic days or accessory days at times however.

Hope you all have a good 4th!

I recently bought some home gym equipment, so the AM workouts ceased...^agree on the workouts being much better...much more stamina/strength.

19% bf as of this morning! Feeling moootivated and headed for the promised land. I'm 190 right now and I'd love to be 12-15% at that weight but I know I'll lose some and have to build back up.

All good though. Brick by brick.
Smooth Seas don't make Strong Sailors. Keep your head up.

MrWhiskey24 for jolly cooperation (PS)
