Thanks, this is the type of reply I was looking for, with someone whos been through similar. My worry is because its not a person, instead a delivery company that they have some type of clause(if proper term) or a way to make it more difficult to pursue this. I know I would likely need a lawyer when trying to go against a company, and their fee's likely would outweigh any pay as the most i'd expect realistically for diminished value is a couple thousand, but I think it would be stupid to sit here and go "my car is going to lose value in years any way" "I can just tell buyers to F off", when its still thousands I couldn't have because of someone elses mistake.

So a Porsche in an average looking neighborhood?

I'm sure the pics are deceiving. It gets on my nerves when people would rather have a nice vehicle and live in a below average home or are still renting an apartment.

My car is parked in a garage daily, I however do have custody of a 2 year old, who I must bring to her mothers house at times that lives in a town house neighborhood type of home, where the hit and run happened(neighborhood is not in the pictures)..


You do realize a daily driven car does go to public places, although I do have handicap parking to avoid some door ding opportunities in public

but chill with the "i have so much money" tryharding.. talking about diminished value claims on a $185k car, sounds like you can't really afford it as easily as you make it sound

yes because my handicap parking that i had almost 2 years before the Porsche has nothing to do with bilateral leg damages that got me medically retired from the marine corps.....

Get a lawyer if necessary, you're exactly right about diminished value, no fixes will give you the equivalent of the factory paint job. Rape them via your lawyer if they don't want to play ball. I'm pissed and it's not even my car, why would this moron need to even get close to that gem.

I already have an estimation, 900 dollars is what they said they will pay out to the shop at a time as work is done, instead of writing a check for the estimated full value and another for any costs that come up non estimated. Not sure how im try harding by thinking my vehicle has diminished value at its price range. A 10-20k car is easier to say car history damage isn't a big deal to still pay whatever price for, versus someone forking out 6 figures and not expecting to get the car in the best shape possible/accident free for spending so much money.

Im assuming you're just trolling, as I said nothing about what I can or cant afford, unless you're one of the idiots in society who would hit an expensive car and go "oh he can afford it, im not leaving insurance to have to pay".

My original value is off as I mentioned 185k with 15% discount not taking into account that I also added paint protection, warrenty, and etc

its a daily driver as I always have an infant with me, so it will be outside from time to time, but the hit & run happened at my child's mother's house which is a townhouse neighborhood.

I have security cameras in the vehicle for hit and runs but it doesn't make a difference in this situation.

Ah that really sucks. The worst part is mental IMO - knowing your new car isn't "perfect" anymore. It was never going to be as a daily driver with a kid though.

Idk about a driving a 170k car as a daily driver. Get a mid range sedan/suv for picking up your kid and doing chores and keep the porsche for weekends?

Yeah honestly the mental aspect is the biggest part, because I waited months for it to be built to my specific wants and then having that damaged by someone else/no fault at all by me sucks. Now i didn't expect it to stay perfect or to even need to sell it but the damages I expected and pre accepted would be from daily usage or when my baby is old enough to do stupid stuff like open a door to close to a wall or etc lol

So going Panamera to compromise with needing 4 door, still getting speed/power when wanting it, comfort and etc, was one of the best decisions for me.

If you can afford it, it's not unnecessary. Just know the risks of driving such a car daily, are pretty high. Good luck, hope you get this sorted.
