I’ve rescued pitties ever since I first got to meet them. It’s an awesome thing to have such a Happy well behaved dog despite what ignorant people thinks. I’ll continue defending and rescueing them. Very happy to have a strong community support for them here locally as well. I’ve met savage Labradors, Germans , and rottis but I’m not a ignorant Chunt who says they’re all garbage breeds

In 2017, the combination of pit bulls (29), their close cousins, American bulldogs (1) and mastiff-type guard dogs and war dogs (2) contributed to 82% (32) of all dog bite-related fatalities. Rottweilers inflicted 1 death, killing an 18-month old Phoenix boy.
German shepherds had the second highest death rate in 2017, inflicting 4 deaths, followed by mixed-breeds with 3 deaths and two breeds with 2 deaths, Labrador retrievers and mastiff-types, and 2 deaths involving unknown/unreleased breed data.

Pit bulls are like the most incorrectly identified dogs on the planet though.

Add in the fact that pit bulls, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds are the most commonly owned species of dog for dik-hole people who want a "bad azz/aggressive" breed, and your statistics fall apart.

My ex had a basically untrained, wildly energetic pitbull who terrified anyone visiting the house by leaping on them. That is one of many reasons we broke up. He was basically autistic (not Misc autistic... I mean genuinely, had issues with physical touch and things like that) and worked on tech, so he was smart and well-off, just... not there emotionally.

gotta expose the dog to different social situations early so he gets used to kids, different people and knowing whats a friendly or unfriendly gesture. If someone raised an aggressive non socialised dog whos aggressive from fearing everything, no wonder doggie would maul someone.

I want a belgian mal or dutch shep so bad but i dont have 5-6hours a day to train the pup. So im not getting one.

The worst is when I see some tiny, weak woman with a pit bull. Like if that chit attacks a kid, wtf are you gonna do lmao

Socialization is a big part of it. My pitties love kids and other dogs but they were always socialized. They still get super excited to meet new people and kids. I can even notice a different in play level around kids as they play more gentler.any dog should be well socialized if not it can be troublesome for sure

So sweet! I've had experience with at least a hundred pit bull type doggos and was never afraid of any of them, nor have I been bitten by one.
