Not here to judge pitbull owners, but they're absolutely last on the list of dogs I would ever own if such a list existed.

Way cooler dogs available, without a documented history of problems.

Out of curiosity though - and I apologize if this has been asked/answered already - but why don't we ever hear about golden retrievers, or pugs, or english bulldogs, or springer spaniels going apesh!t and mauling people to death?

Would love to see the DNA of all those "statistics" 95% of the population can't identify a pitbull. Any "bully" breed just gets tossed in the group.

How many of you can identify the pitbull??

Also remember we have debated this on this site many time so to us we might identify the pit at a higher clip. your average stay at home mom sitting on the porch drinking ice tea watching her kid get mauled has no clue what breed shes looking at.

TLDR: Pits are Alpha, can be dangerous, pay attention around them, usually friendly, submissive to their owners, don't leave a child alone with one.

Never understood why Misc. is so against Pit Bulls. They are alpha as fuk when they need to be and will **** your **** up, the rest of the time they are big fuking cuddle pups.
We all know most dog bites are from small dogs. No reason to report a small dog bit that takes some antiseptic and a bandage though.
Pit Bulls are probably more likely to bite than most other large dogs though (except German Shephards, but only because they are police pups and its okay when police sick their dog on you).
The problem is definitely the owner. You really shouldn't leave a small child alone with any dog but you don't leave your kid alone with a pit. You double and triple check that they can't escape your house, and when walking them you get a strong grip on that leash. They are strong but only way 60/70 lbs. I don't care how strong the dog is, if you can't control a 70lb dog, you're a bitch.

Pits aren't the brightest, but easily trained to handle most commands, make fantastic guard dogs, surprisingly very good living with other dogs, typically very submissive to their people, friendly 95% of the time if trained to be so.

It doesn't really matter whose fault it is though. It may not be your fault if your parents abused you and turned you into a psychopath who robs houses, but if you break into my house you are getting deleted I don't really care. Same thing goes for pitbulls who attack people.

I've got similar to bobbydigitaloa. Same size, stance. Had her for 6 years, got her at 7 months from the shelter. She has never shown any signs of aggression, and has ALWAYS been submissive towards new dogs (and people). The worst she's ever done was tried to play too rough with a kid by running around like an idiot and knocking him over. I won't let her near little kids because i'm afraid of sue-happy psycho parents accusing her of doing something. Even if they want to come up and just pet her I will always keep her at a distance so she can't jump up and nose shot their face. Funny thing also, I've never heard anyone say they hated pitbulls. If someone talks about dogs with me, I've only heard them say they are the sweetest dogs they've ever met. But hey, whatever.

Problem is, shelters can vet a dog all they want, but imo there is no way they can detect all future behavioral problems. So there's no way I would get an older dog from the shelter, doesn't matter the breed. Especially if that dog has been through some ****.

I watched a lot of this guy’s video, he raises bullies and sell them a lot of his clients are rich and even some police stations.

Funny you mention a lab, I personally was attacked by a chocolate lab while walking down a street one day. It was quite scary cause he was huge. I’m usually not afraid of any dog but that was a big lab. Also my cousin had a teacup chihuahua that had its two front legs ripped off by a husky that escaped it owners yard. At the end of the day any dog can do damage big or small. Media tries to put a blame on pitties just like they’ve picked on Shepard’s , dobermans , rottis over the years. I don’t dislike any dog breed. Each has potential to be a great pet. My pitties are raised like normal dogs with basic training and guess what ? They’re sweet innocent animals who sleep with stuff teddy bears.
I’m not your “stereotypical “ owner. Working on my second degree and involved in different rescues and charities.
