Probably need them to stay awake because of the way the cave is. Can't have them knocked out in the drier parts.

And now a Navy SEAL diver is dead from suffocating while trying to get supplies to them.

Sad. Takes 6-7 hours to reach them. Crazy and scary

Well I guess there goes the idea of them diving out. If a Navy Seal diver couldnt make it no way in hell a kid will. I have a feeling these kids are gonna be stuck down there.

So Elon Musk had an interesting solution. Send a 1 meter wide tube down into the cave. Hook it all together and fill it with air like one of those bouncy castles. That keeps the water out and they can basically just crawl out. I guess he has also offered to send pumps over to drain the water. In reality I'd say that is the best solution. With big enough pumps they can drain it even if it is raining a lot.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/05/asia/...ntl/index.html(Yeah I know, CNN lol...but it was the only article I found on it.)
Chiang Rai, Thailand (CNN)A former Thai Navy diver who had volunteered to help rescue 12 boys and their coach from a cave in northern Thailand has died, according to government officials.

Former Sgt. Saman Kunan, an ex-SEAL, died at 2:00 a.m. Friday local time (2 p.m. Thursday ET) due to a lack of air while attempting to return to a command center deep underground, Chiang Rai Deputy Governor Passakorn Boonyalak said.
The command center is located two kilometers (1.2 miles) inside the cave, where the young soccer team and their coach have been trapped for almost two weeks.
Jesus christ...it's going to be way harder than people think to get them out...
It takes even the most experienced divers up to five hours to swim through jagged, narrow channels from where the boys are to safety outside.
It's a 5 hr swim.

I think he meant a diver died, and he remembered it wrong.

The fact that a professional diver died on the way back, and it takes 5 hrs to navigate that tells us that there is pretty much no way the kids are diving out. It seems that the best option is to try to bring them food, perhaps attempt to pump water out, and hold out until the rain stops. If they can remain clean and in good hygiene for the duration, they will likely be okay. We can send food (although every back and forth trip carries the risk of a diver dying).

Here's a US Navy SEAL explaining why basically the kids can't dive out.

I heard they have limited time due to loss of oxygen and there's concerns that the rains will potentially flood further in the caves. It's not looking good, hopefully they figure something out

9 days of complete darkness, dehydration, starvation, hopelessness. Drinking from the murky pool that guards your exit. ****ting and pissing into the wet abyss. Falling asleep, dreaming of home, then waking up and remembering that you’re probably going to die.

Then on hour 216 of this horrific nightmare, a diver with a flashlight greets you in the cave. Your eyes burn since you haven’t seen a light in days. You look away from the light and rejoice, cheer, you’re saved.

The divers bring food, water, oxygen, you feel so hopeful and happy. But hours go by, days, and you are still in the cave. The divers say the journey back is extremely dangerous and they’re looking for another way out. Every hour you feel more and more out of breath. One of your team mates passes out.

Your coach points the flashlight at your team mate. “WAKE UP. WAKE UP” he shouts, but your team mate is unresponsive. Panic sets in. Everyone on the team is breathing hard from the fear, hyperventilating. You start to feel a pain in your chest. The divers won’t be back with the next oxygen supply for several hours. Another team member passes out. Everyone is gasping for air. You start to feel delirious. “Is this the end?” you wonder as you drift off to sleep.

Let's be more positive! They start an underground cave gym using carved rocks as weights. They become so jacked from lifting and eating oddly rich protein moss they blast their way through the cave to an applauding crowd.

civil engineer digging in.

first thing i thought is why not drill a cased hole down to their location and lift them out. would take quite a drill rig though.

Damn this attempt is getting more difficult. Seal diver died, more rain possibly coming, oxygen levels dropping, lack of food and water delivery
