They should give you some kind of sedative before you go into the theatre, all your anxiety and fear will float away.
They could have started sawing my leg off and I would not have cared. It’s pretty awesome.

Very safe.

She's basically admitting that she has poverty genetics and needs reconstructive surgery on her eastern european tranny mouth because it has a 1/16th of an inch offset to cope for her anxiety and BPD.

So you had a double jaw surgery. Everybody says the first few days they regret and then it was one of their best decisions. Was it the same for you ?

Had upper jaw surgery for underbite. Wish they did the incision more higher as my upper maxilla is still recessed. Overall look massively better than before. My sister who has seen me prob the most out of anyone says I look the same lmao

No I recently had sinus surgery. Jaw surgery is something I’d like, if I knew it would give good results.
Only for aesthetic reasons tho, I don’t have any problems with bite or teeth

If your upper arcade is still recessed, shouldn't you have double jaw surgery, to make it look as you wish ? I'm only curious. Also, how was recovery ?

Glad you're seeing improvements, OP. I'm very happy with my teeth, after this surgery I'll be so happy.

I think most people do it for aesthetic reasons even if they don't admit. Profile looks so much better afterwards. I also want to have healthy teeth but I'm also happy that I'll look better.

Hope your sinus surgery was a success and you healed properly. I have a cute nose

Oh god who are you cucking for this surgery. Is there any aesthetics portion of this procedure or is it for comfort. Like will it change your appearance or are you just trying to grind your teeth less. I've been thinking of getting my tonsils out because they're huge af and im pretty sure they're causing me sleep apnea. I sometimes wake up thinking im like drowning or something. I heard that getting them out later in life though is a fck ton more painful than as a kid though

My lower jaw was fine so I didn't need double jaw surgery. I might get cheek implants in the future though. Recovery was horrible, but that's normal.

Having tonsils removed as an adult is pretty painful from what people I know have said. I'm sure it's worth it though if you're having issues with them.

Roxy, good luck with your surgery. I'm sure you'll do just fine as you're young and healthy.

Yes I've had it.

Recently started my daughter on orthodontic treatment and was told that treatment has changed a lot. Hopefully her bite can be corrected with appliances and rubber bands, but they said that if she would have to have jaw surgery that they no longer wire shut the jaw...this is the US though.

Mine was near 20 years ago.

Sorry to say it was miserable.

Vomiting blood with your teeth wired shut really sucks. And using a syringe and a plastic tube shoved behind your back molars to slowly push through thick liquids is pretty lousy also. At the time I was using Carnation Liquid Breakfast and ice cream. Got so sick of the whole annoying process I didn't "eat" as often as I probably should have.

When the wire was off be aware that it is still quite awhile before you can use your mouth normally (or at least it was for me). I was pretty excited to have something that wasn't sweet, but it was teeny tiny bites of mashed potatoes or refried beans.

Lived through it. Don't think it made any noticeable change in my appearance - it was to correct my bite.

I don't have my tonsils out, I have a crossbite and arcades need to be cut and fixed, it's how my surgeon says '' a procedure for health with aesthetic implications''. I wouldn't do it if I wasn't set for it by professionals. I obviously need it.

Scary af, looks like what the majority of people who documented their recovery on youtube went through the same amount of things as you and the guy above did. It can be easily corrected if you start your orthodontic treatment at a young age, even if you wear the mobile braces, because with an ORL specialist and an orthodontist, it can be corrected. However, I was 19 when I started and my bones were not growing anymore, so this is why I need surgery.

I know a woman who had a similar procedure done--she had her jaw wired shut for 3 weeks, drooling everywhere, couldn't speak, lips chapped, eating through a straw, etc.

She said that it was the worst experience she'd ever had and to be honest, just thinking about it gives me a bit of anxiety.

It's 2018 and I can have a prostate exam with a blood test and yet, we're still breaking jaws to fix overbites.
