france had quality because croatia had to play open, chasing football.

a dive where griezmann was going to ground before the defender arrived, and a dubious at best penalty. perisic was clearly trying to keep his hands to his side as the ball deflects downwards. if he leaves them up and the ball hits his hand it's a handball, he tries to bring it down to his sides and the ball deflects and its a handball. impossible as fuk situation and completely unintentional.

you think croatia leave their back exposed like that if it was 0-0 or 1-1 or 2-2??? or if they were UP? the completely dominated the opening 17 minutes until the free kick. they were INCREDIBLY unlucky, but full credit to france for capitalising as well.

but to insinuate croatia got outplayed by any sense of the word because france scored 4 is laughable.

This.

Croatia were playing better and were more dangeours before the ref fell for Griezmann's dive and then linesman missed the offside that caused the push for the own goal. I swear to people itt just watch the highlights. France are great on the counter and open space when the other team has no choice but to play open football to chase the gam after getting fuked by the refs.

Im not a troll. When it comes to football, I support Italy and hate England. I am/was super annoyed at you Engcucks, with your 'its cumming home' vitriol. Based on what exactly was it coming home?

The fact that England smashed the Panamaniacs
The fact that they beat Tunisia with a last minute goal
The fact that they beat Colombia (minus Ha-Mez) on penalties
Or was it the fact that they beat a great Sweden side.

Answer me please you dirty, filthy Engcucks.

Will say it once more, England are average at best. The only good sides they played in this tournament they lost to, just like the last tournament and just like the next tournament.

ps. Its coming home.

Why would you be upset at our fans having fun and enjoying our team winning?

I think maybe you mistake "its coming home" chants as arrogance, it wasn't that at all we were just having fun, we weren't used to reaching the semi finals the last time was 1990 and that's before my lifetime. Its kind of half sarcastic the way we used it, I guess the nuances of that may get lost in other countries

We never claimed we were world class, we never claimed we beat anyone special, we were just enjoying the ride and having fun

Even though they beat us, I really enjoy watching the Croatian fans celebrating, im happy for them and it gives you a sense of how much it means to them. I don't understand why watching people being happy makes you mad

It's funny how a casual fans perspective can be more accurate than a legit fan. Before the WC started I was tellin my Colombian bro I thought France was going to kick ass, because the last time I watched soccer was the 2016 euro. He swore Germany was the team to beat lol

I wouldn't say I insinuated that Croatia got outplayed. I was more saying that when France had the opportunities in front of goal, they didn't chit the bed like Mandzukic and Perisic did multiple times when they didn't even trouble Loris and shot the ball into the 5th row. Pogba had 2 shots. One shot hit a defender that would have had to be saved by the keeper and the other went in. That's the difference in quality and that is all it takes.

As for the handball, the referees have obviously decided that throughout the tournament they are going to call a penalty with VAR whether its intentional or not as long as the hand is not by the players side. As long as they are being consistent, what does it matter? Just because it happened in the biggest game, doesn't mean it should not be called.

Did you watch the game? Did you see the ref say goalkick before Giroud complained? Did you see the ref then watch the video replay like 20 times back and forth?

I have no issue with the penalty call, but if you are unsure(which the ref clearly was), you do not make this call in the final. Ultimately the ref still has power over the match, which makes VAR suspicious still. You think if Rebic complained to the ref he would go watch the replay lol. The world says it was dubious at best.

You need consistency, whether it is holding in the box, handballs, or looking at VAR. the final proves that this is still some way away

Edit: actually VAR has been a complete hit at this world cup. I think about 15 mistakes corrected. Its still the ref that ultimately decides

It's only going up too. 60 something million for a goal keeper? I mean it's nice to see Liverpool opening up the checkbook but damn.

I remember when every thread wasn't about Lebron James too. It's a sad part of our history right now.
