Tesla is circling the drain...

I haven't actually seen a decent misc thread where we can discuss this so I thought I should create one. I don't think Tesla is going to make it brahs...

Cliffs for those who are unaware:

- Tesla has never turned a profit:
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/12/elon...t-one-day.html

-Musk acts like a jerk to investors in their recent earnings call.
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/03/here...illing-me.html

- 24% of Model 3 sales have been cancelled:
https://money.cnn.com/2018/07/19/tec...ade/index.html

- Musk claims that they hit their "production targets" but there are tons of teslas just sitting in a field (probably waiting for parts that have not yet been made):
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...d-california-0

- Tesla asks suppliers for cash back in order to appear that they are turning a profit:
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-...iers-cash-back

- Biggest country they sell their cars to is getting sick of their chit:
https://www.bloombergquint.com/busin...sla#gs.JnPiASo

It's a shame to see an American company fall apart but I just don't see how it makes any sense on why teslas market share is worth more than ford or gm. Major manufacturers are almost caught up to Tesla with EVs and are churning out cars. Just as a side note, I don't understand how EVs are viable with an antiquated grid. How are we helping the environment when we are creating lots of pollution to mine these precious metals used in batteries, using even more energy to turn them into a battery, and then consuming natural gas and/or oil to power these cars via power plants?

My dad was in the process of buying a Tesla, and had some electrician come out to his house and tell him it would be $15,000 to install the electric hook-up for the car in his garage.

So he bought an Alfa Romeo instead.

Good example of how a conman can convince taxpayers to subsidize fancy cars for the ultra-rich & make a personal fortune while doing it, all while decrying "big government".

Musk belongs in jail.
When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Saw that article where he was going back and asking suppliers for "rebates" on parts he bought from them 2 years ago. It's like me going to Wal-Mart and asking for a refund on groceries I ate last month. Fukkin lol at Tesla's level of desperation.

So should a bunch of firms and hedge fund managers who knew the housing market was heading towards a collapse a decade ago. As you can see, these people rarely get in trouble for their misdeeds.

Im just looking forward to Tesla going under and everybody who bought one is left with a very expensive smart phone with 4 wheels. The outrage would be unreal and I would hazard a guess Musk will cite Trump as the problem.

Musk will do what he always does, wrap his failing company up in a neat little bow and use his other company (in this case SpaceX) to buy the failing company.

He just runs a company ponzi scheme

I've never really liked Elon Musk.

I believe CNN recently did an article on him with the title "Elon Musk: A fraud."

I couldn't agree more. Several members of my family ordered Teslas which never arrived.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

Wasn't his entire business model based on selling cars online, cutting out dealers which was never going to fly?

I work supply chain for one of the German OEMโ€™s, Teslaโ€™s a joke. Itโ€™s well known they canโ€™t produce a car worth a **** and they hire anyone with a pulse and pay them crap money.

i think they should shift gears and work on either supplying current car companies with the parts that they do well and letting others do what they do well, as well as continuing space x

Tesla isn't about selling some chitty cars

It's about changing the market into being a lot more "E-Car" friendly only to come up with the infrastructure for it.

Like he makes profit selling some cars? Great but that's not what this company is about.

It's all about making the change to electronic cars and getting bank on charging stations and accessories and supplies!

you would be surprised how often this happens in multiple industries.

For example, in heavy construction, the owner/general contractor of a project may notice a sub-contractor did great and made tons of money on the job. They will ask for a percentage back, and they will get it, because the sub will be afraid of hurting their chances at repeat business.

So much Elon hate lately lol. I don't think he's a straight up fraud, I think he's just a frustrated nerd who's trying to pave the way for electric cars. It's not gonna be profitable until more people start using them

I wonder who's financing everything?

From what I've read they don't make a profit and never have and no one even knows when they'll reach break-even. For their whole existence they haven't shown profit yet they keep surviving.

Who's funding it??? Where does the money come from?
