Our only couple friends are getting divorced - holy chit this is awkward

It's a tale as old as time. Stemcel marries woman who acknowledges his existence, but now wife with part time job lives in $900k house and decides she "really needs her freedom." STEM brah is very busy programming and still isn't grasping what's going on, thinks a trial separation means they are getting back together in a few months lol.

These are people who we've been regularly spending time with for 5 years now. Like almost every single weekend. Do we still hang out together? Do we have to pick one? Do I clue the guy in on what's really going on? I already got scolded for joking about her house having plenty of parking for all the tinder Chads that will be coming through soon.

lol always an interesting situation. Did you and your wife prefer one over the other?

Most of the time it seems like both couples just stop hanging out completely, especially if they're not close with one of the divorcees. But I've never gone through this myself.
