Mayor: Drebin, I don't want anymore trouble like you had last year on the South Side. Understand? That's my policy.

Frank: Yes. Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's *my* policy.

Mayor: That was a Shakespeare-In-The-Park production of "Julius Caesar", you moron! You killed 5 actors! Good ones.

most police departments spend only enough money to have their members qualify with weapons target practice twice a year, maybe 3-4 times per year max. other than that cops have to pay for ammo, targets, range time etc out of their own pockets, which the vast majority aren't willing to do. so they're already undertrained as it is when it comes to being able to hit targets accurately and precisely; expecting them to be able to shoot people in the arm or leg in a stressful situation isn't realistic at all.

It's literally a lose lose situation. They don't shoot, there's a headless woman on the ground and everybody is crying why they didn't shoot the knife out of his hand or do anything. They shoot, 2 shots (of how many) hit the hostage and they get chit on anyway, OR they shoot before he grabs the hostage, and people start screeching "omg he was just standing there with a knife not hurting anybody."

This is why I'm not an LEO anymore, society is literal cancer.

You can tell that someone loves in a bubble when they say, "Why didn't they just shoot him in the arm/leg?"

LOL @ people blaming liberals. This is ALL on the ****ty cops. They hesitate to shoot the guy when they have a clear shot, but fire when he has a hostage...the fuk kind of logic is that?

Good. You are responsible for every round you fire. The cops who hit her should be charged with manslaughter at the very least - if they're innocent then let them prove that in court.

Imagine being such an inane bootlicker that you think to blame liberals, as dumb as they tend to be.

If they escalated the situation enough to draw guns, at least shoot him before he has the opportunity to grab/get close to anyone else.

"Who cares what the general public thinks?" LMAO as if they're not supposed to protect and serve versus persecute and shoot.

center of mass is easier to hit than legs which move much more nimbly and quicker, with a slimmer silhouette. plus your legs don't just cease to function once their shot, particularly in an adrenaline fueled situation

that being said, I imagine another concern of shooting for the legs is ricochet off cement/asphalt/any surface that isn't dirt. easier to have a backstop you know it will embed itself in.

this, even though

1) hands up don't shoot was found out to be complete bull****
2) eyewitness testimony from blacks show he was punching the cop through the window
3) eyewitness and forensics show that he was running at the cop when he got shot
4) cop didn't even empty on him, fired a couple, gave him warning, then fired again when he resumed charging at him

- from what it sounds the cop in the michael brown case did everything right, and had great restraint in escalating the amount of force , libs literally chasing the good cops out

Exactly. That family doesn't deserve a dime. She was disabled and living in the streets, but now you wanna care when you smell a paycheck.

I never want to get into a situation with the police. They don't get enough training so when something goes down they can't handle the pressure and do sh!t like this.

9 times out of 10 I'll stick up for cops, but that 2nd one that didn't have a shot went full potato. Idk if he freaked out and just fired when he heard is partner firing or he was just that stupid. Either way I don't see him getting off lightly from this.

Also of course now the family of the homeless person want to see. They didnt seem to care that much since they left her on the streets but they see a paycheck now and they're jumping on the money train. They should fuk off.
