On topic: the person who tries to fish for compliments about the car they drive is the same kind of douche that goes to a 3 star Michelin restaurant and posts a photograph of their bill online - the kind of person that's desperate for external validation. Just like people who fraud on internet forums and then try to call it all a joke when called out on it. Personally, I'd only ever buy a really nice car if I lived in Germany and got to use it fairly regularly at high speeds without having to go to a track etc.

More like when you got caught frauding

Guess it’s still better than getting validation from your neighbours car

Man **** why they bought it. What upsets me is that 99.9% of people with fast cars can't even drive it close to the limit (on track). Most people can't even drive a civic to its absolute limit. Really grinds my gears.

I certainly bought my car for validation, nothing says I'm better than you than showing up in a 2008 Honda Accord, EX-L of course.

F150 owners seem to think they are driving a culmination of an F1 car and a rally car. I was in my colleagues 458 Ferrari and even then had some douche F150 owners right on his tail. BRB his bumper costs more than your entire truck. I thought it was just a generic thing with all cars but for some reason anything that challenges an F150 owners small cock and ego turns them into the most rampant degenerate of drivers on the road.
Sorry, but your buddy's 458's bumper does not cost $45k lol. The car is only $250k brand new. No way the bumper is 1/5th of the car's value. At most it would be $10k with paint.

Life's too short to not drive something at least moderately fun....If you have the cash why not. I'd rather pay $10k extra for a nice car coming off a lease than buy a Honda or Nissan. I enjoy driving my car everyday, I drove around a POS, real POS for years while making good money. Decided to get something decent (Audi A5). I enjoy it everyday. Its not some $100k car, but you can definitely notice the difference in performance.

You're confusing care with opinion.
You assume because someone only makes $14 an hour at a job that you know of means that’s their only source of income. Maybe their wife or husband makes a lot of money, maybe they won the lottery or a lawsuit settlement and have more than you. Ever thought of that?

If I was rich I’d pretend bitch about money too so that people wouldn’t start asking me for any.

It's super common. A lot of people take on a chit ton of debt just to look cool in some impractical car.

Everything you do and own is for validation. Human being only need 3 things to its core, food, sheltor and fuking. Everything above that is just layer for social validation. Your job, your look, and what you owe. Is just to attract opposite sex and is validation in your social circle. Like Dave Chappele said, if a guy can fuk a women in a cardboard box, he wouldnt get a house.

I would say MOST of you in here are looking for validation in life. POSTS include..."what hair cut" "what shirt" "what pants" "what shoes" "what car" "what watch" "what sunglasses" also includes homes, apartments, condos, places to eat,how to walk, talk, blink, and breathe...I assume most in here are single or under 30 still looking for attention and acceptance from random nobody's ..IF thats how you want to live,cool..but one day you'll see life is not all about that. Its about finding yourself and living your short unimpressive meaningless lives to their fullest..

Trust me, I've known a lot of these people for years, they're not "making it" by any means. The medium income for people that live in the city is less then $30,000. I'm not assuming anything regarding most of them

I'd wager most people driving high end cars (80K+) don't care about the stats. They like the way it looks. They like the interior. And they like the status symbol.

I wouldn't want a 10K fuel efficient sedan because it sucks to drive them. I'd rather drive a mid tier pickup truck and spend 60$ to fuel up. Even if gas shoots up to 5-6$ per gallon I'd still daily a truck > a fuel efficient car.

Depends on where you live. I've traveled a lot of places and in most places people don't seem to care that much about cars. Where I live now if you drive a 50K+ vehicle your just average. Even if your driving something that cost 70-80K it won't really stand out or be admired.

I go the opposite with it.

I make my car look like **** on the outside. $1 walmart paints and damage from sliding into poles and concrete. got the hood popped at the back to make it look like it was wrecked. mix matched wheels. kept the interior looking stock and full of 'garbage'. Full quiet exhaust makes it deathly silent, like an original car would be.

A slow car.
People generally think its a box of garbage and don't give it a second look.

Under the hood, however, is the cleanest meanest thing I could fit. Literally the baddest V8 turbocharged engine I could reliably daily driver.

From a dead stop pretty much lunch everything.
Because I got the need for speed. Not looks, not wows, not "steal me" signs. Just fast af puts a smile on my face.

My car is the biggest piece of **** I've ever seen.
Worth maybe $1k MAX, it's old, heavily damaged, but does the job so idc.

It honestly comes down to what makes you happy, my car bros drop some big numbers cause it's a passion and hobby, whereas I do not cause I don't care.
We all have our vices and in the end, do whatever the fk makes you happy as long as you don't harm anyone.
