1950's? Probably has a hairy pussy. YES! Yes I would.

I'm a woman with pretty old school values. I'm also extremely selfless, kind, caring, whatever you call those feminine qualities that OP mentioned and the men are just as messed up because I get taken advantage of because I am this way. People are all around messed up.
Women are just as much to blame by teaching men how to treat us. We set the bar so low and try to be independent by being what we think is equal by dumbing down our natural gifts. Men take advantage of it for sex and honestly a lot of men just don't value honor or family or having one good woman to love and protect. It's like a vicious cycle.
It's like the 2 genders are in a completely dysfunctional relationship with one another and can't understand the other's needs. It's all kinda of chaos.

unfortunately the expectations are fluid and always changing in culture and society.
In what ways have you been taken advantage of? Have you drawn a line in the sand now for what you expect from a suitable partner?

In no period of history has it been 'better' for everyone. but there are certain things during various periods that were good, and should be recognized as such. Or at least philosophized on - to test whether it was good.
Dismissing a period in history because there was a social injustice present, is like throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Even still, not sure how this would counteract the post. Not like guys get a pass on the dating scene. They got to prove their quality too.

I'm a single mom of 2 and have been for over a decade. I also have a decent career, pets, a house, etc. The whole thing minus the husband. It is extremely difficult to balance raising good kids, keeping the house clean, making dinner, paying bills, staying active/attractive, being mentally and emotionally healthy by having hobbies and friends, etc. Etc.
All I can tell you is no one is perfect and there's only so much energy or time in the day. You have to compromise one thing for the other. If I want to spend more time at the gym, my house will be messy. If I want to work to pay my bills, I don't make dinner, my kids eat tons of quick easy things. Cooking a nice meal is a treat around here. If my kids need extra help, my social life suffers. I am completely happy and fulfilled with my life. But it's because I don't get all type A on myself OR my kids. They actually do tons of chores because this is OUR home and we all pitch in because it's too much for one person. We don't fight over it either. No one freaks out over anything small. I'd rather be happy than Martha Stewart.
If someone walked into my house and sneered at my dirty dishes or "needs to be folded" laundry pile, I'd laugh at them. Because clearly they have no idea what it takes to maintain a household AND be a happy human being who enjoys life.
If you want your wife to love on you, be happy, glowing and all those wonderful things, help her out. If she likes making you nice dinners and being a good mom and wife, she probably doesn't have time to clean. Hire her a cleaner.
Men want to be appreciated for being good providers and protectors, as they should be. Housewives also want to be appreciated for their role too. I'd so much rather go to work and come home with dinner made and house clean etc. Than be a housewife. Homemaking is more demanding by far.

There are 3 things I can think of that were better in the 50's than it is now, by every other metric, things are better now. Those 3 things are, college tuition rates, entry level salaries, and single parent households. Everything else is better now.
So it's more like there are many pieces of crap floating with the baby in the water, and maybe we shouldn't bathe in the same water.

or public schools - because they were better.
or food, because that was probably better too - I'd venture to say.
or refrigerators. Im serious my dad still used one from 50/60s (im kinda guessing). it... still.... freakin... works.
or cars. you could actually repair them yourself and buy one without significantly putting a dent in your cost of living.
I'd imagine property in general was way cheaper in ratio compared to today.
I dont think you're dwelling on the importance of entry level salaries. do you realize how significant that is, to go out to the work place and not have a college degree and actually live okay?
Im not going to pretend like everything was fantastic, but dang you shouldnt marginalize it either.

Public schools were not better, especially since there was that whole segregation thing.
Food is better now, more abundant, you don't need to buy sugar-laden shyt, healthy food is easier to come by now than then.
Appliances are less well constructed, yes, but they're also significantly cheaper, in the 50s a fridge was 3 months salary, today it's a week's worth.
Cars were simpler, they were also much less safe, BRB getting impaled by the steering column when crashing at 20 miles per hour.
People are screwed on the entry level, but that's life, what you do is get some education, and better yourself. I've more than tripled my salary in the last 3 years.
I'll admit, I can be an ass hole, but it's the way you say things, had you written your OP differently, I would have replied differently.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

These very acts are acts of love. They don't follow some gender role ideal. A good woman will do these things for the man she loves naturally. A good man does the same exact things for the woman he loves. If he can't cook, he'll pick up dinner, if she's tired, he'll take care of the dishes or put the kids to bed. There is truth to what you're saying about introspection, and there are of course quality traditional women still out there. The point is that the culture as a whole has drastically changed and it is not the norm to be a "quality traditional woman" like your wife seems to be. I know of one virgin in real life and she's a Christian, and most of my female friends/acquaintances scoff at the idea of cooking for their man, cleaning the house or the idea that sleeping around is potentially bad for society at large.
I also don't care about settling down with a virgin, most girls suck in bed anyway, let alone one who has never done anything sexual before.

These behavior's we want to demand from others come naturally from both genders as a sign of love and respect.
Believe it or not, we live in an era where we can the best marriages / families of any era. There's a study where they found the quality of a good relationship today is much higher than in the past. So even if there are less married couples (not sure that's true), the ones who are happily married have greater satisfaction than any other era. If BOTH parties needs and desires are met, negotiated, appreciated, than they're pretty damn happy. The key is MUTUAL love and respect. The equality movement is confusing people, but equality creates better relationships.

I can think of something else that was better in the 50s.
Men weren't addicted to porn, there weren't communities of retard social justice warriors that only congregate because of the internet, there wasn't an agenda of pushing transgenderism and homosexuality down everyone's throats and there weren't laws that allowed social services to take your child from you if you didn't recognise their trans identification.
Kids didn't watch porn on mobile devices, communities were closer and people actually knew everyone on their street.
There was a stronger cohesive national identity and culture among people.

still my point stands - it doesn't change what im saying about objective ideals.
Obviously expecting all of that from any woman is unrealistic, but it does beg to question what things should exist in a gender role marriage? And maybe gender role marriage is more attractive to men than people realize? Especially if its spelled out.
Problem is, discussions like this is met with marxist dribble and is usually attacked (pretty zealously anymore). Sad.
I could go on, but I'll stop.

Differences between 1950s and today;
You could force your wife to have sex, no such thing as rape between married couples.
You could beat your wife, in fact, it was encouraged, just like you could beat your kids, because nothing screams great relationship like a threat of violence.
Many women didn't work, so they depended on the man for everything, this of course meant less divorce because if you have no work experience, it's either shytty marriage or poverty.
Men worked, women stayed at home, so they needed to be subservient, it's not like 3 hours of cooking a day plus 3 hours of cleaning, plus taking care of kids equals a full time job, since men made the money, women needed to be quiet and do as they were told.
Women weren't more reserved back then, they were just not treated as equals, step out of line, get slapped up, that's why women acted more reserved.

I cook all the meals but get help from Mr Flexy because he is the King of the grill. I spend Sundays in the kitchen meal-prepping and the fridge is filled with neat containers of everybody's lunch, steaks are seasoned and sides are prepped for Summer Sunday dinner, or a roast in the oven for Winter Sunday dinner. I plan all of our meals for the week ahead and post them on the front of the fridge. On the side of the fridge is a white board for anyone to write down what they would like or need for the coming week.
We train together and I don't wear makeup to the gym, but I get dolled up for him every evening. Joan Crawford wrote that every woman should go to her husband's office just once to see all the pretty women who pass by his desk every single day, as a motivator to keep yourself looking nice for your man.
I manage most of our household bills and I prepare all of our tax returns. I also maintain our filing system (most of the time - I hate filing and fall a bit short then I have to catch up on a rainy Saturday afternoon).
I think looking after the home and the family is good and important work. It comes very naturally to me, and I don't feel oppressed. Especially cooking - it's a way to nurture the people I love. I would have loved to have been a full-time wife and mother, run the household with military precision, have a place for everything and everything in its place, to can my own fruits and vegetables, to be more active in the community. When I "retire" I will work part-time so that I can do this.
And I don't think I am alone or rare - there are countless food and beauty and lifestyle bloggers out there with millions of followers. I really want to blog, but I'm too chicken.
Listening is an important part of our relationship. "How was your day?" usually solicits a good conversation rather than a one-word answer. We talk about our goals and we support and encourage each other. I have a really awesome guy and I don't for a minute take him for granted.
No drama: You know where we are.
