I would definitely look into driving for Uber. I made $900 last weekend. And this is just driving friday night to sunday.

The path I'm choosing doesn't seem to discriminate much on age. It's healthcare, and non-traditional students are welcome. Different industries may view age differently.

That said, I have a trump card in that I have a couple thousand hours more Health Care experience than most PA applicants, since I did home living assistance in my early 20s. I'll be early 30s by the time I'm ready for the field, but that's mid-range for PA applicants anyways, so age is unlikely to matter.

Software development/tech is the main industry that would probably discriminate on your age, but if you're in your 20s now it's probably moot.

Your worst problem is that you have no dream/goal/mission ... and therefore no drive and focus. Before you run off half way around the world, make some crazy military commitment, or drop a bunch of money on school ... you need to figure out what excites you. I'm willing to bet there is something or maybe a few somethings that excite you... but... your friends/family/society have silently convinced you without you even realizing it to suppress the desire.

You have a clean slate to start from scratch.

No sunk cost dilemma and being stuck in a career you hate.

If it were Australia I’d say do open foundation and then do a university degree of your choice...but Italy would be different I imagine.

That or do a trade. Apprentice, get Certs, enjoy your work.

Alternatively you could try the business approach and get a job at a private business and try to work your way up the ladder.

Or try your own business like being a personal trainer.

This is good advice srs. Don't just do something because you feel you have to, figure out what you have an interest in.

I made that mistake after high school. Went to college because figured I had to, majored in chemistry because figured it was a good major, ended up having zero passion or direction and dropping out.

And here I am 5 years later finally with some direction.

I know other people who stuck it out and now they're in a job/career they hate while at the same time have convinced themselves that their option to change has come and gone... relegating themselves to slow miserable passionless existence. A little bit of money and a few nice toys make it very easy for people to become so comfortable that they're silently miserable.

Surviving is easy now days. Truly living is not. And that's where most people miss the mark. I've got a lot of friends/family that I'm certain view me as a failure... but... I've tried to be authentic to my dreams and not a slave to somebody elses.

Whale said mane. One of my friends makes good money but he hates his job. The money is literally the only benefit so he just plots how to make more (finance/accounting).

I'd consider truck driving if I wanted to be away from people, sales of some sort if I wanted to work with people.

Graphic Design is the field I am in.

I got a job at a startup company, one of my friend just graduated and got a Product Designer role at ********.

This field is good but however, only the best of the best gets the job, so if you really want to do it you need to gave up everything and put your effort into it.

Go to a vocational school. Learn a trade. About time people stop buying in to the BS myth that college is the answer for everyone. I spent 62k on an undergrad and grad degree that hasn’t earned me but $14/hr. Fuk that OP. You can make 60k trucking your first year or 30k doing real estate your first (hot a$$ market). Pursue the trades. Get riches. Get biches.

Nobody can answer that question besides you bro. You could take the happiest miscer and follow his life step by step and be fking miserable.

Im in basically the same position as you (except im 24) and im still trying to figure out what I want to do in life for the long term.

You got to figure out what your passionate about, if you dont know yet its up to you to keep trying different sht until you find it. Start pursuing a career that allows you to work on those passions/hobbies. I dont think that necessarily means finding a career where your job IS your passion.

Lets say you take up powerlifting and you love it and really want to pursue it. Doesnt mean you need a career as a personal trainer, PT, etc... But rather a career in something you dont mind doing and makes ebough money to support an enjoyable lifestyle. Now if you choose a career that inhibits your potential as a powerlifter (heavy manual labor, long hours) youll most likely be miserable

I'm in a similar boat as you OP at 27, though I have a chit paying job atm. Considering either Air Force, programming, or a trade like HVAC. Leaning towards a trade right now, work hard, and then eventually open up my own business.

Dont make the mistake I did & get an AFSC that didnt mean jack chit on the civilian side. Spent 14.5 years (& counting) doing jobs in the USAF they couldnt give a fuk about on the outside. Look in to 3D0 / 3D1 if you are in to info. security at all. Im about to crosstrain in to a 3D0 slot myself. so imagine this. you have a highly transferrable skill to the private sector (that also gets you a Comp TIA Security + cert in the training), and have a top-secret security clearance. can you say MONEY. especially in DOD contracting. just saying bro.

don't do the fishing boats/cruise ships/ships/boats like earlier suggested

it's cool for like 3-5 years, every one is fkkin miserable after that. definitely not something to make a life of. pays incredible, yes. but it's a novelty that wears off (srs)

currently a little over six figures in the maritime industry but in the same spot as you mentally. Fkkin hate my life with no skills to do anything else. Might just bite the bullet, make chiet ass pay but enjoy my life and barback or something

Unless you're going for something very specialized with high demand/school that will set you up nicely, I wouldn't bother with going to uni.

I would use this opportunity to start a business. You legitimately don't have much to lose, so you won't be gripped with fear/hesitation like other people who have sunk tonnes of money into school, and have put a lot into their careers which they likely aren't too happy with. Pave whatever success and wealth you seek in life.

It's extremely rare for someone in their late 20s to all of a sudden find something that inspires them for the long term. It's even rare for someone over 20 to experience that. That kind of thing usually happens in a kid's teens, sonny boy son. So, you're not one of those people. You're gonna be an average Joe who can still smack it. So, sonny boy son of piss, I would do this son---
1.) Work your ass off until you're 30 son, i'm talking as many hours as possible in whatever, smack it boy...smack city
2.) Save, invest, find a bish, blah blah blah blah...all the bullchit

Accept who you are son, and do the smack city. Don't sit around and wait for inspiration that will never come. I smack the piss out of you boy

at the very top, you can make about $300k/year. not even worth it, srs. once you're at that point, you'll be 35-40 and be way beyond the point of miserable, depressed, etc. know a lot of people at that point, and the ones that arent openly like fck this are deliberately faking it so they don't off themselves
