She helps me in my weak areas like remembering things and actually attempting to fix things before hiring people and I help her in her weak areas. She will help run an errand for me also because I cannot leave the office a lot of times also and never complains about it.

I guess it's personal preference. If you prefer a "provider and homemaker" setup, more power to you. That's how my parents were and it's worked great for them (for 30+ years). We're both too driven for that though (but we also have no kids or real responsibilities to speak of)

Me and my wife split the cooking about 50/50. She does 99% of the cleaning and 100% of the laundry. I take care of the yard and fix things when/if they break, do maintenance on the vehicles and things of that nature. It works out pretty good.

every asian couple i've ever met does that. so yeah you are right. their girlfriend or wife always makes sure they have lunch ready for work. but i can't really imagine white gf's or wives doing that lmao i'm sure they do though. well the wives.

My wife made $92k usd last year and won a trip for the two of us to Maui. So Ashin, you're saying if your wife was bringing home that type of bread (and that is a chunk of change in the real world not Misc Standards) you would rather her stay at home and clean? Not to mention we're both throwing money into our 401k, savings and investments. Teamwork makes the dream work man.

A mother and housewife raising a human well is arguably more important than the work you do sitting in your computer desk writing up reports.

I cook for my bf every time we stay in together. But mostly bc he sucks at cooking and I want my 1.5k calories a day to taste good. He does dishes every time bc I hate that shyt. I’d say with my previous exes that I lived with, we divided housework semi evenly.

I can't wait until my little girl is old enough to do this. She's only 9 months old but when she sees me walk in from work she lights ups with a smile and can't quit squirming around until I pick her up.

However, I think it's up to each couple to decide what the roles are going to be, then stick to the roles. There's no "muh masculinity" once you're on the path of her bringing in the dough and you're not. There's certain behaviours that come along with being the financial provider which become a part of the person.

If men want those behaviours in their women, then they shouldn't/can't complain about it later.

That's the thing man. We don't have a kid yet. My best friend and his wife both work from home now. They still need child care and it's $1200/month. They do in home childcare now and it's $800/month. So it definitely has to make sense you're right about that. My parents both worked because my mom was a school teacher and she would never give up teaching. Even though my dad made way more money. But now that they're retired they get my mom's pension on top of my dad's 401k and savings. Team work.
