The problem with autism is it is too broadly characterized. Think convergent evolution. Different disorders or symptoms can appear the same when in fact they’re not the same or have the same causes. Couple this with overdiagnosis and parents being frustrated with their children’s delayed development and going to doctor after doctor until someone diagnose their kid with something.

My aunt and uncle went to 5 different doctors, finally their kid got the label. Fact of matter is they allow an iPad to raise their kid, the child was severely cognitively delayed. This isn’t autism. It sure looks like it though. And considering the only way to confirm is to do an autopsy and look at brain tissues, he will be treated as he’s autistic when he is not.

according to the study above, children vaccinated with hepatitis b vaccine are 3 times more likely to be autistic. non-white children are the most at risk.

Lol no, I’m using the concept as an example of things that look the same but are not the same or come from the same predecessor. Like speech delay bc you never taught your kid how to speak will look the same as speech delay from neural abnormalities.

I also think that parents are not raising their kids right and seek the label bc most people view autism as something unpreventable. So that takes away accountability from the parents.

It seems like its so vague that anybody can be daignosed with it based on the above thing. Probably a lot of false diagnosis/ people who are just awkward who fall under the 'spectrum'
These are the symptoms according to that article..

"appear to be insensitive

seek out time alone when overloaded by other people

not seek comfort from other people

appear to behave 'strangely' or in a way thought to be socially inappropriate.

They may want to always travel the same way to and from school or work, or eat exactly the same food for breakfast.

intense and highly-focused interests...can be anything from art or music, to trains or computers.

may find certain background sounds, which other people ignore or block out, unbearably loud or distracting."

So you are probably autistic if you like routine, like your alone time, don't like distracting sounds when trying to focus, and you have a hobby you are invested in. You may also be a jackass. Lol what a joke.

This study shows no difference in rates of occurrence between children who received MMR (the one vaccine a doctor falsified a whole entire study to try to convince the public is the culprit for autism) vs not.

Vaccines causing autism is probably the one thing that has been ruled out.

of course in most kids they don't trigger anything, so you can't say they CAUSE autism.

the question is, why are those children suffering the side effects? I'd imagine that they are already at risk due to other factors such as high exposure to other toxins, formula fed, etc..

I think i've developed autism

Isolation causes people to develop autism because they aren't accepted socially so they try to escape in their own little fantasy world and get weird from not talking to people

The autism group in that study included 33 children.

Thirty. Three.

It's also strictly a correlational study. Moreover, the vaccine didn't exist until 1991, and many of the people in the non-vaccine group were born before then. In other words, all the study really shows is that people born before 1991 were less likely to have been diagnosed with autism than people born after that date. We already know that, right?

I think poor gut bacteria is a major risk factor for autism. some children are able to reverse their symptoms when they improve their gut health.

the importance of a healthy organic diet during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and eating organic, whole foods would reduce chances of being diagnosed with autism.

About 70% of the parents I know and am around have a kid that is either autistic or has one foot in the spectrum. It is usually the boy, usually the third "oops" kid. Only about 10% identify their kid has a problem. It really is a pandemic.

I'm almost positive I'm on the spectrum, and I'm friends with other people who most likely are as well. Yeah, we can be a little awkward, we had less social opportunities growing up, but who cares. We've experienced the same stuff everyone else did. We ****ed girls, partied, got high, were able to hold a job, played sports, succeeded in school. It's not that big of a deal imo.

interesting...what symptoms do you see, that the parents don't, that lead you to believe they are autistic?

I work with teens who are at various ranges on the spectrum (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and they come from all backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, nationalities etc. Some of their mothers had them later in life; some had them at a very young age. Some kids come from affluent backgrounds, and some come from lower socio-economic status. Some had complete vaccinations and some did not get vaccinations. Some parents told me that their children exhibited unusual behavior as early as 1-2 years old and other parents told me that their kids were absolutely fine until at age 7-8. something happened and their children regressed academically and socially.

There is just no one factor to pinpoint.

It is diagnosed more these days because there's better classifications for it. Plus, older women having children leads to more cases of autism.

wild article

I see neurotic parents handing down traits.

There seems to be some conflation between an organic, genetic, predisposition caused autism and then 'autism' coming from poor nurture, socialization.

It seems like its so vague that anybody can be daignosed with it based on the above thing. Probably a lot of false diagnosis/ people who are just awkward who fall under the 'spectrum'

edit:

Probably another reason is because people are turning into social recluses with the increased engagement with technology so they can't develop social skills properly. It's nearly impossible to make good friendships when you're older too because everybody has their face stuffed in their phone. That also would prove difficult to work on your personality/social skills when there isn't anybody to talk to because they're preoccupied.
Jesus Christ no, not even close. People who are diagnosed with ASD are not socially awkward Miscers. Autism is diagnosed before age 3, and is typically characterized by a child no speaking, pointing, or gesturing by 1 year of age. And by 16 months still unable to speak 1 word. and by age 2 unable to combine 2 words, sensitive to light and sound, refusal to make eye contact/smile/engage with others. It is very easily distinguishable from someone who is "awkward" which develops much later. Please stop posting about things you know nothing about
