His demeanor is spot on. He has always had a reserved presence with a suave action intensity in everything he has done. He has done multiple tactical roles from The Wire, Thor, to The Dark Tower. He's perfect for this. I could see the argument for 007 being a particular demographic, but I don't see anyone filling the shoes here.

What happened with Disney Wars was bullchit with the actual content of the story pushing an agenda. Most reasonable humans agree. It happens a lot in media. But I think 007 can work, though. Casting wise, I can't really name a better choice ATM.

JMO. If you've got a better actor in mind, I'd like to hear it stated. Hollywood is filled with soyboys right now.

Race matters more for some characters than others, and in the case of Bond, I think it matters. He's a Cold War creation with an upper crust British background, which definitely means white. Bond is also a symbol of the long dick of post-colonial power, which is ironic since the UK doesn't have much power anymore, but that's where the fantasy comes in. Bond has the status, appearance, and manners that will let him go anywhere where the rich and powerful are, no matter the country or culture. Make him black and the meaning and nature of the character changes a bit.

I think Fassbender would be a better choice.

Have you seen Hardy in Legend? I don't think he'd be bad at all

I haven't seen any of the modern Bond films though, not since Brosnan I think. They look chitty like The Mechanic or something
