hmmm, let me just offer a crazy opinion here, stay with me for just a moment. What if, people didn't rob stores for a pair of shoes made in china?

I love snap on tools, I don't steal them, so if there was a snap on bait truck in my neighborhood, it would be a non issue.

Bro I'm agree I don't steal and I don't agree with others stealing obviously.

But I did work in a garage. And I'm sure we both would agree that if the snap-on truck was left unlocked outside a road with like 100 mechanics yards on it, some of them would go missing.

And I highly doubt it would be considered a racial issue, right?

I'm already getting begged by butthurt cops because I made a donut joke (I don't hate the police, it was a joke), and I'm sure this will cause more people to get butthurt, but I have to say it...

People dont steal because of their skin colour, they steal because they are thieves that want something they see an opportunity of getting for free.
Poor people are more likely to be like that, because they are in an environment where everyone is poor, there would be a higher percentage of them willing to steal. Not all of course, but more.

I don't see why this is so offensive to some people. I'm not emotionally invested in it and I can only see it logically.

What the media is leaving out, is that the truck was closed, and that the offenders used bolt cutters to open it up. I wouldn't expect the media to tell the whole story though.

Don't worry though, Kim Foxx had them released without charges.

I haven't read many of the comments, but the narrator says that Norfolk Southern (one of the 4 Class I railroad companies in the U.S.) requested the operation. Obviously, to catch the thieves in the area who were stealing from the rail yard and passing trains. I worked for a Class I railroad like the NS for just under a decade and the theft from our trains was rampant. Most of the theft in my area came from one particular stretch of tracks in a predominately Black neighborhood. We never stopped moving, but it didn't matter to them. The moment they heard our horns they literally came running in by the dozens, jumped on the moving trains, tossed off as much scrap metal as they could, and ran away. On more than one occasion there were deaths from falling off and getting rolled over.

No sympathy for these *******s. There are a lot of people who struggle financially, but they still manage to respect the property of others. I MIGHT have a bit of sympathy if these folks were starving and they were stealing bread or oranges, but you don't NEED Nikes.

lol why do you think techs are required to buy their own tools in the first place? I actually did hear of a train yard providing tools once because techs bitched so much - they lost $200k worth of tools the first year and ended the program. People are thieves, even if you aren't.

You're not even factoring in the multiplier. Now we're on the hook for court costs, jail, probation, govt assistance for the entire family if he had a job, etc. And how much harder is it going to be to obtain gainful employment after this? For what? To catch some low level property criminals in the hood. Makes 0 economic sense for anyone who isn't the police wanting a bigger budget.

Agree, some people have their priorities completely wrong. those people will always be trapped in poverty. Good points. Who the hell do the police think they are?! Actually arresting people for breaking the law and tying up the legal system!



Let me ask you a question....do you think allowing the thefts and other crime to go unpunished is better for community? If businesses are losing a lot of money in one area they’ll just move eventually. So instead of protecting the businesses you would prefer they protect the criminals. Just fukking ridiculous.

great job from the chicago police on this one

this is what i like to see, proactive law enforcement in high risk areas, sometimes it's just a matter of when not if a crime is committed in certain locations so it's better to have these guys caught in the act of stealing dummy property rather from real businesses who would have to incur financial losses and downtime to replace stock
