These are the stats for fatherless Childs

Suicide: 63 percent of youth suicides
Runaways: 90 percent of all homeless and runaway youths
Behavioral Disorders: 85 percent of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders
High School Dropouts: 71 percent of all high school dropouts
Juvenile Detention Rates: 70 percent of juveniles in state-operated institutions
Substance Abuse: 75 percent of adolescent patients in substance abuse centers
Aggression: 75 percent of rapists motivated by displaced anger. < LOL at the wording on this

Having even your own children is a ****ing chore but you deal with it since it is your blood. Would rather just get a dog than raise someone else children from a single mom, no blood relationship anyway but emotionally way more rewarding.

The logic is the same

Both of them aren't your bloodline and require money and resources. The only thing you can argue is the child will need more money and resources, however the central point remains the same.
