ITT I show you how to turn <$40K into >$2 Million in just 8 years - my goal before 35
I am currently 26, 27 in February 2019, and prior to my 35th birthday, I should have $2 Million cash net worth.
Oh, and btw, I won't be touching a single cryptocurrency...
So, how will I do it? In short - combination of currency leverage + savings from income + secondary income from property + monthly investment into diversified funds:
Stage 1:The strength of the £
- Currently, the £ is worth $1.28; one of the weakest points in the past 15+ years.
- Ever since Brexit was announced, the U.K. economy has been highly uncertain
- Since the government hasn't managed to negotiate the trade deal it desires, the £ has been tanking
- My belief is that once the trade deal is negotiated and finalised, the £ will rise
- By 8 years time, once U.K. is independent and more money is circulated internally in the economy than paid out to EU, it will exceed $2:£1
- There is an exclusive "spread" which has an 8 year leverage position of 17:1 if the £ exceeds $2
- The risk is that if this doesn't happen, the payout is 3.3x initial stake, even if the pound gets to $1.99 : £1
My potential return is £510,000 - which if the £ exceeds $2 will be worth atleast $1,020,000
The potential risk is £99,000
Stage 2:Savings from Income
- In precisely 1 month, on Weds 26th Sept, I start my job in IB
- Despite thinking long and hard about moving out, I have decided to live in my dad's house in St Johns Wood
- My savings will be £3000/month, which is £36,000/year cash
- Assuming 5% compound interest conservatively in a stock portfolio, and as base interest rate in the U.K. rises
- After 8 years, this translates to a net figure of >£360,000
- Which in dollars, assuming the £ exceeds $2 by 8 years time, is equivalent to over $720,000
Stage 3:Rental income from property I bought
- I have been an FA for many years
- During the 3.5 years I have been working since graduating, I have saved an average of £2K/month
- In 42 months, this was £84,000 in cash, of which I put down £75,000 as a 50% deposit on a 150K student house in Manchester, England
- After all expenses including 8-year mortgage, tax, maintenance, etc, my net income is £900/month
- Assuming 80% occupancy, this translates to £8,640/year
- Across 8 years with 3% interest per year, this gives a total of £80K
- If the same assumption as prior holds where £1 = $2, this realises a total of $160,000
Stage 4:£500/month investment into 5 diversified funds
- On top of the £3K/month savings, I intend to invest £500/month as 5 x £100 investments into 5 funds
- Funds will be FTSE250, DJI, Asia Emerging, African Commodities, Small Cap
- Total annual investment = £6000
- 8 year cash investment = £48,000
- 8 year likely return @ 8%/year = ~£70K ; which on $2 to £1 exchange rate = $140,000
Total minimum net worth 8 years later prior to age 35 = $2,040,000
What are your thoughts Misc? Who wants to join me on this journey?

I'm currently at £120k net worth, in for advice. My salary is complete chit compared to yours OP. I have 50k in Premium bonds, should I sell them and put that money in stock portfolio/SIPP pension?

You lost me at point 3
with 8640 a year, how does that equate to 80k after 8 years with an additional 3% interest

I put 75K down as a 50% deposit on a 150K BTL in Manchester.
So I have approx 15K cash plus just over 30K in stocks/shares portfolio left.
I will be putting that 30K on the currency FX spread bet where I value £1 to exceed $2 within 8 years time.
New job starts next month with much higher pay so not too worried about low cash flow at this stage!

neverthless, good strategy and strong personal view

Assuming all the other things pay off, that's still $ several hundred K dollars after 8 years net worth.
So it's not disastrous, but obviously the ideal situation is if the currency FX pulls through

But that doesn't matter, because I have been doing for 22 years anyway (4 years I lived away from home for University).
I've only trialled living out for 6 months as a short-term tenancy in my entire life apart from Masters degree

Absolutely none of which has come true. Now, two years later, you have completely the opposite economic view. Twat.

Read up on gold as currency.
A lot of people dont trust the central Jooish banks and how they regulate money. (much like debeers).
Asia is more motivated to move away from western currency, especially China
Im not saying it wont work, im saying its an aggressive strategy. So many volatile unknowns.
I watch so many "self made millionaires" get labelled as investment geniuses/real estate tycoons. And like 75% of them id put down to luck and not genius

Also, is this plan B? Because it doesn't seem to have much to do with plan A:
https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=173939451
The problem is not that you are autistic, it's that you're arrogant. There are smart people here, with excellent memories. You just got hammered.
