I lived in Thailand for a year. They are a collective culture. If you act a fool, don't be surprised to see 5-10 people coming at you. One of them might randomly be a muay thai fighter too in which case you're going to eat some serious elbows/knees and get cut pretty bad.

A lot of them are sick of western people coming in and, sometimes literally, ****ting on their country and everything about it. Fat fcking Americans (go figure) show up and treat Thailand like their personal toilet bowl. I've had to get in a few altercations with loud, useless westerners a few times over there. It's disgusting behavior.

I was stopped and searched every 2-3 days on average when in Bangkok. Police are everywhere.

That’s way crossing the line, doesn’t matter where they were sitting. they were drunk in a place of patronage and stuff like that happens in businesses. You don’t walk into a group. That’s the animal behavior that made them rage at the locals. It’s the gesture of it that triggered them so hard.

If I was that dude I don’t care who it was nobody just bursts in my bubble like that weather i sat in a wrong place or not.

To be fair, they're competing with fat fking British and fat fking Australians for the title of 'crappiest tourist'.

Strangely, from personal experience, when you behave politely and respectfully to Thais, you will from have zero to minimal problems, assuming you maintain basic safety protocol. Funny how that works.
