Kids don't need that much to survive, some beans and clothes from goodwill is enough, I make way too much money to pay child support, the payments would be too much.

If custody is anything other than 50/50 the parent with less than 50% should be chipping in some money to help with expenses.

Having said that, there's no way I'd let my kids not have their needs met to avoid contributing more than my ex to their care.

Honestly, cash child support is often a **** arrangement for the kids. I've seen too many baby mommas buying their kids poverty clothes and crappy food and using the leftover child support payments to buy things for themselves.

I work in worker's comp and child support can take up to 60% of your check. I'm pretty sure SSDI works the same way. Child support is the only lien that can be taken out of temporary disability benefits.
