My point was that of all the things creating division in the US (one presidebt in particular comes to mind) this is a pretty small issue.

More importantly, a significant portion of people in the US don't even believe in the moon landing. So I'd say there are bigger things to worry about.

“Human achievement” is not the real reason trust me. They want to be able to sell this movie in China India Europe and all the have earned markets that’s the reason they won’t plant the flag

Wouldn’t be surprised if they film the scene then add it into the dvd later in American regions

For people that claim ceo 10k a day you guys have poor business sense

Well there goes some of my liking Ryan Gosling as a person and actor. My assumption is he is doing it for the global market to widen the appeal and get PR for it.

Definitely pretty stupid though.

I personally think the media holds sway, but I would hope schools teach this stuff somewhat objectively so people are aware of the actual history. I can't tell if people are stupid enough to buy into this rewriting history stuff.

Goslings statement is 100% wrong. The moon landing was entirely about nations and borders. The space race was literally between two nations at the height of a cold war that was entirely based on borders expanding.

such a crazy thing for Gosling to say. Sounds like a jealous canadian who has NOTHING to be proud of with his own country. Canada has literally zero achievements.

To be fair, Russian women did fight on the front lines. They made up propaganda stories to make them cooler than they were, but they did fight and die.

Always found the story of the lady who bought a tank and drove it to the war to avenge her husband pretty cool.

That aside, the movie better end before he gets out because the flag is a huge part of the moon landing.

Just google WW2 tank lady. Mariya Vasilyevna Oktyabrskaya.

You do realize Canadians were actually instrumental in the Apollo 11 mission, including designing the lunar landers legs right? And it was a Canadian who was in charge of the lunar module program.

I was thinking this. I don’t want to dismiss the fact that so many Russians died. They did fuk up a lot of Germans. But the US just dropped some bombs and got in there and the war was over in no time.

Yeah I know and that worries me as a future parent. Much of the school system seems to be becoming a propaganda wing for liberals and I hope that changes. Kids shouldn't be nudged or forced to think anything other than that truth and then they can make up their mind from there. It grosses me out that some teachers and schools do that to kids.

Part of why so many died is the leaders were **** and would gun down thousands of their own when they were sent to fight without weapons. But yeah they soaked lots of bullets. We also kept them supplied early on.
