Swore I was done listening when he jumped on the Trump hate train. Just sick of hearing that from every direction. Couldn't help it though, and am now listening to it. Sounds pretty good, although not like his early music. He'd be pretty lame rapping like he did in his 20s at his current age though lol

I heard it and it felt like a super self aware meta apology.
It has the same meta effect as the MMLP2 and rap god which at this point it’s just impressive that he is so creative in his work that he is somehow still relevant when he shouldn’t be.
This wasn’t an album more like an apology mixtape and damage control via meta self deprication to reconnect with audiences.
It worked, the fact that he kinda admitted and made fun of his last album along with other subtle gestures.
Only the first couple songs are good but those are really good, and everytime he makes a good songs as a 45 year old like 20 years into his career.
He also gets on our good side by saying what sucks about modern rappers in a really well said way. The way he says stuff is conceice and tight. It was well said that’s all I can say.
Some nice lines and some honesty.
It’s like the ultimate “back in my day” type sentiment but it’s actially done right because our generation really did peak so we are stuck in limbo trying to express how the new generation is deficient but we fall into the cliche that our parents thought the same about their parents, but this time the reality is different because they are the first to grow up in a place that didn’t know a time befor the net so they really are shallower, and he does a cool job of riffing on this topic multiple times.
Besides that it’s not good enough or long enough for much replay value.
But as an apology and damage control for his last album it worked great.
I guess it’s like the Kanye principle where you gotta know feel when he is trying and is inspired, or when he will drop some less than genius work and not care.
It’s kinda bragable to bounce back after losing like half your fan base. He didn’t say I like trump but he definitely retracted that ugly fascist energy and he gets one pass on trump because he did the same on GW bush.
He apologized, gave a bassy couple dense flow songs, and made fun of modern rappers in a well said way. It’s not a full quality album but it’s worth the time to listen to it a couple times. There are some good lines and thoughts and some good bassy beats.
It’s a testament to how skill and mastery of a craft has no age limits. Each time he does something to stay relevant it’s a miracle and heroic because his age

Gave it a couple listens now (been driving a lot)
The ringer, kamikaze, greatest, fall are great. Lucky You is brilliant and easily the best executed rap song ever IMO. The lyrics, the flow, the speed and precision, the overall subject matter. A+

Fall and Stepping Stone are my favorites. Just perfect songs like some of his old stuff. And i agree Lucky You is the most impressive rap track ever.

listened to it a couple times, the track with joyner is amazing as well as the ringer and fall. but some of the tracks got ruined by the hook imo (the greatest and normal) and tracks like nice guy and good guy are utter chit. i'd give the album a 6.5/10

It's a 8.5/10 album.
Normal track sucks a$$ though.
Stepping stone is like 2003 eminem since he's produced it.
The rest is gold

I just like that he roasted his last album, roasted himself, and also roasted the idea of people not liking his last album in context of his whole career.
It’s important that he laughed it off and brought cheeky aware humor into it. He always seems to know how to manipulate listeners and touch all the right buttons when he is trying to be likeable.
It almost felt like the libs and Jews and sjw industry people or whatever pressured him into doing such a tone and then he kinda reluctantly sold out but now seems to have immediately regretted it and snapped back to his original rebel senses.
It was like he was used by the media and became a victim of it; when in fact his legacy and fan base were worth much more than such a empty gesture of the current political climate

After that he has a few good songs that I enjoyed. Then I turned 22ish and haven't listened sense.
Not a smart career move telling all conservatives to fuk off though and that they shouldn't be his fans...

Album doesn't feel like it has a soul. As stated previously, hooks are virtually non-existent and the beats are flat. Old Eminem wasn't just sperging out on every single ****ty rapper in existence, there was actual substance to his first few albums. And why the Drake diss? So autistic.
