Dunno. Really not much has changed since my 20's except for that my career is soaring and I have a lot more discretionary income to enjoy and do with as I see fit. I spent a good deal of my 20's in a sickly state, and I wonder if that has anything to do with my...let's say, reluctance to settle down in what most miscers would say is the 'right' way to do so, as if there is a right way to choose the life you want. The fact is of the matter is I am quite settled. I like what I like, and I make no apologies for that. And if I want to post pictures of the cool food I make on Instagram, so be it. Kind of blows my mind the energy some of you spend tearing apart what little bit of joy people can experience in our sometimes chitty existence. You mad I already put my Christmas (well, Fall) tree up while sipping on a pumpkin spice latte?

Very little about the traditional family life appeals to me. It's not something I crave or need, so I don't focus my energy on chasing after something that I'm not all that interested in anyway. It's not cope. I'd be coping if I had two kids under four running around while I get two hours of sleep a night posting on ******** about being a Household COO and having the toughest job in the world, but that's none of my business.

you chose to be lonely since you wont date guys that are 40-60 but you try to date 20 year old guys.

What I meant more is that what most people experienced in their 20's...creating strong adult friendships, choosing their packs, establishing themselves in a community...I wasn't able to do those things until about 28 or so. That, coupled with being raised in an ultra-religious household with rigid rules on friendships and dating made me feel a bit left behind during my 20s, and so I spent my late 20's/early 30's doing a lot of work around How to People. At the same time, I dealt with the death of a partner so while I was learning How to People, I had also experienced a profound loss that I think naturally takes time to come to terms with and start dating again.

Maybe I'll wake up at age 40 and think I should have chosen a different path, but I doubt it. I'm quite content with how things are going.

These days they probably just have age: 29 on tinder and not much changes, they'll still wake up to get 30 messages/day. They do have to watch all their friends get married though and stare into the abyss of owning many cats.

yes its called settling down. Gold diggers date unattractive men with money so they can live a comfortable lifestyle. You should try to date unattractive guys and try to fall in love with their personality, so you do have someone you like and you are not lonely. I wouldnt suggest anything if loneliness didnt bother you but in so many posts you complain about being lonely.

It's tough. I wrote out a long post on how I learned, but looking back on it, what I really took away is always go to events. That's not to minimize the difficulty in learning how to have strong emotional intelligence, be a good listener, being a genuinely delightful person with a cheerful disposition, but not saying 'no' is a big part of it. And if no one is inviting you, go branch out and do stuff on your own. Yes, it's scary to be the new person joining a group, but it fixes the un-peopleness qualities about us.

Just hard to find because most guys 40+ aren't attractive, or are married, or if they have money they can date younger. So it's very different from dating in early 20s when many people are single and attractive.
I know alot of single 40+ guys who are reasonble fit who train in martial arts clubs. Why dont u try that?

Win win for you, workout, expand your social network, learn something new.

I would sign up with a legit bjj or muay thai club. Those 2 in my exp have the best social environment. alot of the women tend to bond together rather then compete and if you're decent looking lots of guys will hit on you lol

OP said attractive women.

And attractive women with zero kids in their 30s can do whatever they want, like every attractive women. There are more than enough desperate guys to go around.

Over the years I have learned to trust my social skills which despite studying engineering are honestly not bad. Somehow people always just stay at arms length though and I can also feel lonely in an entire evening of socialising. I relate more to people on the internets.

I have an even more friendless gf which doesn't help, lol

I don't get this recurring theme that life magically ends for women at 30. It's not Cinderella, we don't turn into pumpkins.

Don't most people actually get married in their 30's these days? For me, despite all the advice to settle down young what you'll find is that men pre-25 aren't looking to commit.

Meaning a woman's "window" if you will to find a life partner ends up being 25-35, unless she's lucky and meets one in college. Hopefully on the earlier end of that but it's not realistic to say if a woman isn't married by 30 she's totally done. I have lots of friends who basically had to wait for their male peers to grow up, finish whoring around and start looking for the "good girls" that they ignored in their early 20's because they wanted notches.

The dating market has changed, everyone has Peter Pan syndrome and a lot of people delay commitment because they don't want to grow up.

This is especially true in major cities like NYC, LA etc.

My guy friends don't even start thinking about marriage until 28 and then they're looking around for 24-33 year old women.

Theres a guy i work with thats a juicehead, pill popper and bipolar, "reformed" (?) womanizer. Theres no universe where hes marriage material - he flies off the handle at spilled milk. Not a bad looking dude. He got married 2 years ago and is going through divorce. Someone asked me why. I said because some people arent meant to be married.

Now think of the female version of this. Especially if shes good looking she likely isnt that far off from this guy in terms of having a laundry list of issues.

Its even worse for women because they dont realize they have unique value unto themselves. Society has told them their man represents their value. So they go after the guy that has it all but will never marry or stay married to them because he has high sexual market value and can go fuk college girls.

You see it as a sign of maturity when people get married in their early 20s? And are subsequently divorced by their mid 20s, because their brains are still developing and they don't really know what they want.

I don't see getting married as a sign of "growing up", it highlights quite the opposite in a lot of cases.

No, I think it's a poor idea as well but miscers/manopshere in general constantly tells women we need to marry ASAP before our glow fades--totally ignoring the divorce statistics and the fact that only poor rednecks tend to get married at 18.

What I'm saying is a) even if we wanted to, the men aren't going to marry us that young as they are not done screwing around yet and b) as you said, as long as a woman remains decent looking, the options don't vanish at some arbitrary point in time.

Life is funny. It's not always a sign something is massively wrong with you if you aren't married by 30.

There may be some unrealistic Disney princess expectations out there. Not hating on guys though when I say that options for women have changed. More women can at least choose to go it alone and also the decline in a lot of traditionally good paying male dominated jobs combined with and increase in women with professional careers makes it harder for women to date up which they are naturally inclined to do.

Any mid-late 30s unmarried attractive woman with no kids is crazy. 100 percent.

Most of the women that are single beyond 30's, are women that are very rigid regarding what the type of men that they want to date (i.e rich, handsome, monagamous). Yet their main assets (youth and beauty) are fading away very rapidly.

You cannot be 32 or 35 and have the same dating goals as when you were in your 20's : The type of men you desperatly want to date have many choices and surely will not settle down with a woman who has lost most of her glow and doesn't have much to offer beyond her "career".

I'm 28 and I'm already contemplating dating girls in the 23-26 range : Still a lot of glow, old enough to not be a dumb college sluts with no interests beyond partying and social medias, still not jaded by the countless sentimental failures that they went through.

100% truth.

A beautiful and intelligent woman is never single nor available , if they are you can bet that they're crazy.

I was willing to marry and have kids with a girl I met when I was 28, she 27. She wasn't willing to curb her party lifestyle, slow down on spending and was a bit of a drama queen at times. So after 1 year of being long distance and living together for 8 months, I ended it. She's just passed 30, single still. One guy dated her for a few months but she was his second choice, plus he had a kid and she tried to ignore those things until he ended up chasing after another woman who also had a kid.

We're still in touch because we started as friends, and I switch between feeling bad that we couldn't make it work, and feeling apathetic because she couldn't shape up and be a wife. And 1.5 years later, I'm dating a 19 year old who's more sensible than her. Who's so glad we've met because it means she's found someone who wants to build a life together instead of the meaningless relationships her generation of Poles are trying to have. There are times when her inexperience shows, but she's quick to apologise and put more effort in when I raise the issue.#

I'm honestly having less and less sympathy for women who are over 30 and unwilling to be honest with themselves about not only their current predicament but how they got there in the first place. It's similar to obese people except instead of admitting they're fat they can't admit they don't hold as much male appeal as they used to, instead of losing weight they continue their unappealing lifestyle, instead of expecting weight to fall off they expect the perfect man to come along, and instead of not eating better food they don't change the kind of guys they end up with.
