I'm sure this is 100% garbage

Many people have done extended periods of calorie restricted diets where they eat nothing but chit food. All of the ones I saw had improved health markers in their blood work

I'd hypothesize that the carnivore diet is just an extreme elimination diet. I don't think the meat has anything to do with it, more likely just cutting out something they're intolerant too.
This is a very good post

I have done elimination diets before. They're incredibly effective and the results are easily noticeable. The key is to reintroduce foods slowly and gauge their effect one variable at a time

I done it for around 3-4 weeks, felt great and eating ribeyes never gets old. I also fasted, I never at a meal before 12 or after 8 including coffee

Only reason I stopped was because it's a pain in the ass if you live a somewhat social lifestyle. Eating out with others, going to people's houses for meals etc was impossible.

It's also hard to find good quality beef that doesn't break the bank. In the UK its near impossible to get any other red meat, No elk, no bison, barely any venison etc

If you're suffering from chronic inflammation, then I guess it's worth a shot to see if the diet has any beneficial effects. Just be aware that vitamin C and folate generally aren't found in sufficient quantities in meat. Some carnivores insist that vitamin C isn't necessary with a high meat diet, because diets high in connective tissue meats (organ meat, skin) supply a high quantity of hydyroxyproline and hydroxylysine (vitamin C catalyzes the hydroxylation of proline and lysine to create both of these amino acids, which are necessary for collagen synthesis). This may be true, but vitamin C is also a necessary catalyst for norepinephrine (and carnitine, but you can definitely get enough carnitine from dietary sources). I haven't heard any theory on how carnivores deal with limited norepinephrine synthesis.

Regarding folate, youcanget it from certain meat sources (some livers). Make sure to incorporate the appropriate meats. More generally, I would vary meat intake rather than relying exclusively on one or several meats.

Good luck.

Funny enough Im a huge 'fan' of Joe Rogan and have been watching a lot of his videos with Dr Rhonda Patrick and the like. I seen the one with Jordan Peterson's daughter and even though I thought she is not Jordan, it made me interested. I was going to do the all meat 'diet' then after more research started a keto intermittent fasting diet. Ive been lurking a bit and seen this thread so wanted to comment.

Hitting your macros is a gross oversimplification of nutritional requirements. Its really dependent upon your genes and what works for you and your body. Not a one all solution.

My thought on this is that on either extreme on the spectrum you will see benefits for the short/medium terms. But in the long term if your genetics/epigenetics arnt suited for it you will suffer.

It's unnecessary if you have a healthy gut, the reason certain people respond so well is because their guts are damaged from eating plants. Plants have a ton of anti-nutrients in them and some people tolerate them better than others.

The thing to take away from this movement is that fruits and vegetables are not the healthy superfoods they are presented to be, organic meat, eggs and organs are far healthier than we are led to believe. The fad of stuffing ourselves full of veg under the pretence of "health" needs to end. You can still incorporate fruit and veg into a diet but the foundation of any healthy diet should be pastured animal foods.

I tried it for like 5 days. I just started feeling like garbage after a while. Added a little bit of carbs and felt a lot better.

It's not a longterm solution IMO.
should just cut out refined carbs and perhaps gluten imo

meat only is nonsense
I already don't eat refined carbs and the only time I have gluten now is every once in awhile when I go out and have some beers with the boyos, so basically no gluten also.
isIw2AN_-XU
I suspect this also, that is one of reasons why I'm testing it out brah.
Don't be silly, OP.

You will end up with a lower body weight for sure due to less calories. Also, you will not get enough nutrition just through meats. Ever heard of a balanced diet? Never go for full meats, vegetarian, etc... these were designed by the respective industries to promote themselves and fatten their wallets.

I did Atkins for a while, lost plenty of weight... however, became very depressed and more prone to binging. Your skin will probably get worse and you may experience hair loss and slower nail growth. Not sure what damage a meat only diet does to your insides, but I'm betting if your skin, hair and nails aren't as healthy as before such a diet, your insides must be fairing worse.
You forget that you aren't talking to some lazy pos ******* on reddit that is looking for some magic bullet to a chit lifestyle, I won't be intaking lower calories because I actually lift and track them. Secondly yeah that is why I'm testing brah, if any of that chit happens I'm gonna stop, but remember I'm going to be getting all of my vitamins/nutrients in so I suspect I won't experience anything that severe.

sounds ridiculous. what is your current diet like? maybe you're eating something you're intolerant to which is causing inflammation. all you gotta do is cut that out rather than going to extreme diet measures.

if you were to say meat AND veggies (including potatoes, other root veg etc) then that is much more sensible as cutting out grains will do a lot of people good IMO.

I wouldn't call liver "high in Vitamin C." It has moderate amounts of vitamin C, and low C compared to vitamin A. In fact, if you regularly eat enough liver to get 90mg of vitamin C, you will also be getting about 50,000IU of preformed vitamin A (i.e., vitamin A not in the form of beta carotene), which is over 10 times the tolerable upper limit for preformed A.

Unless you have a philosophical objection, I would personally just supplement with C rather than trying to choke down potentially toxic amounts of liver.

doubtful. you'll always have gut bacteria, but killing off whole classes of bacteria arbitrarily is silly.

nearly all hunter-gatherers had a fiber intake that was closer to chimps than to modern humans.

Glucose has been shown to impair Vitamin C absorption due to competition for transport, so I suspect again Vitamin C level not to be a problem due to lower requirement of actual intake on this diet. We will find out with bloodwork brah, stay tuned. You may very well be correct though.

Correct brah, and again I'm not here to tell anyone that this is a good idea or that it makes perfect sense. Just testing it out. Due to how hard this would be to maintain socially if it goes well I will probably try reintroductions of a few things one at a time to see what's good, that is if this doesn't make me feel like chit or give me poor bloodwork in and of itself.

steady energy levels, good focus, maintaining weight is easy and even if i ate way over my kcal limit i stayed the same. I do feel a bit flat but pump in the the gym is better (go figure). Strength went up but i did started taking creatine (inb4 not naty) alongside when i started the diet.
mind you i was on keto+If before i went full carnivore retard and it was really easy transition.
I always tell the truth, even when I lie.

This is just a really extreme version of Keto.

Take it for what you will but keto benefits alot of people (myself included)

While it's not ideal for bulking a 0 carb meat only diet is a good way to shock yourself into ketosis for about a week before adding in high fiber low net carb veggies like cauliflower and broc****
I actually live in South Florida

Make sure your colon health is up to date.

If it is, you'll never have to wipe ever again.

Saves $$$ on toilet paper and save the planet at the same time.

Cheers.

Update #1: Wasn't expecting any feels at all for at least a week, but today and yesterday energy levels have been crazy steady/high, overall mood throughout day has been much more stable too, especially between meals. Poo's are still normal/healthy. Literally got destroyed in gym last night so we will see how well recovery goes.

Any links or proof to back up that claim? Interested in reading about it.

What about morgan suprlock where he just eats mcdonalds for 30 days and his bloodwork comes back absolute dog**** tier? Was that garbage?

good luck with your cancer goals

I'll start by stating that I'm not a nutrition specialist, scientist, doctor, etc.

I've started watching a bunch of documentaries (haven't read all of the studies yet - I know everyone has an agenda to push) about eating and relationship with health, mortality, effects on the brain and blood. I'll have to get all of the names of what I've watched so far.

advocates for keto - There seems to be a very strong correlation to brain health. Autism, epilepsy seem to get shut off

advocates for whole food plant based diets - better for the planet, evidence seems to indicate this type of diet will help lower or turn off our genetic predispositions to certain types of cancer

Both sides can claim improved blood profiles
