The Hario coffee server is made for their V60 dripper pour over system.

I'm using it with that Vietnamese coffee phin filter thing which works like a cross between a pour over system and an espresso machine. Paper filters are not used at all. You create a compressed puck of ground coffee in the filter and pour water in. The water passes through the ground coffee much slower than a pour over and creates a very strong extraction.

Probably easier to understand by just seeing it for yourself.

Bought an outdoor griddle and converted it to run on natural gas.

Eggs and pancakes with hardly any dishes. Made fried rice today. Might do scallops or shrimp this week.

Would highly recommend. So easy to make a ton of food quickly with hardly any mess.

Viet coffee is otherworldly, brah. Nothing like the coffee you're used to drinking. I would suggest you go to any Viet restaurant and order an iced coffee, but they don't do it any different than that video so you might as well get yourself a cheap setup and make it at home. The filter thing is like $10 on Amazon.

the issue i have making at home is the condensed milk. The milk is fine when you first open in....the next day the consistency changes and blah

if you can find a larger french press then it would work....french press is the same idea. Just don't press down and let it naturally slow drip

Remember that you need a lot of coffee per water. more than you think.

When I order ice coffee at viet places. The liquid only fills up less than half a cup. Then fill rest with ice.

Never tried coffee with proton powder. Sounds like a good way of hitting macros.

Traditional Viet filter size (smallest) brews around 4 ounces which is enough for a serving. The filter I just bought is the largest available size I've found, 15 ounces. It doesn't sound like much, but a lot of people cut it down with hot water to taste or a bunch of ice if they like it cold. I guess if you keep it chilled like cold brew, you can cut it with cold water or milk.

My cousin just makes the final mixed iced coffee in advance, puts them into old Starbucks plastic cups, and freezes them. She takes one out to thaw when she wakes up in the morning and it's ready for her to drink during work.

As for me, no matter how much I brew, it's all going down the same day.

Not quite the same, at least when I do it.

I brew with a Bodum French press as well. The coffee comes out with more body/viscosity/sediment compared to the Viet filter method. Both methods produce excellent coffee though for sure. I think some people say you can get close to Viet coffee using an Aeropress, but I don't have one so I can't confirm.

And yeah, I know that feel of buying Viet iced coffee. Feels like I take a couple of sips and it's all gone. One of the reasons I just make it at home.

Cyclone dust collector thing from home depot. Came with the hose on top. Attaches right to a Rigid shop vac. Just have to make a little cart for it and the vacuum so it fits together better. Works great though as barely any of the sawdust makes it into the actual vacuum.

Being anti-2nd Amendment is like saying "We have too many rights, please take some away!"

Have a serious "issue" about sticking earbuds in my ears (tiny ears) + earbuds are filthy as all ****.

These wrap around my head - grip it - and I can hear people/traffic while running/biking in the gym as I am listening to music - ****ing amazing to me.

bought a pair of Alden for Jcrew cap toe shell cordovan boots a couple of months ago.
