Another friend getting divorced, no prenup, just LoL

I am old enough to have multiple friends who have been divorced now. Just found out about another today and he said he has no prenup and said he thought about it but was scared to talk to her about it before the marriage. Just LoL. If you are a person today getting married without a prenup you are plain and simply retarded or a beta cuck. I know nobody plans on their marriage failing but to deny it's possible or not want to do something to protect yourself if it does, just wow, you get one life homey. There is no reason not to throw a lawyer a few hundred dollars to ensure assets are protected down the line, and if your marriage starts to suck you can easily to walk away. I find it hard to feel bad for stupid people sometimes. My mind is fawking blown that there are still people not getting prenups, one of the best insurance policies available when it comes to cost/benefit ratio. You no prenup having guys go without homeowners insurance too?

Why get married in the first place? a prenup literally negates the only benefit of why a chick marries you. Just skip the whole event. Problem solved.

I've heard this, I think it's a state by state thing here in the US. I know in NY a well wrote prenup is iron clad. I've heard places like Cali you should just never get married though, not sure the truth of that.

pre-nup only protects the assets you have prior to marriage. Any assets you acquire while married are fair game with or without a pre-nup.

I am in a different mindset when it came to marriage. Say if something terrible happened and I got divorced. I'd honestly just be like fukk it and move on with nothing to start over.

This, although it can also protect you from debts being carried by the other person prior to marriage. But most young people aren't going to benefit that much from a prenup when they are just building their assets with the other person and all of those assets are fair game

I don't know a single person in my peer group that is divorced. I honestly thought it was going out of style. Don't know many people my parent's age that aren't divorced.

0, but that is the mentality that gets a lot of guys in trouble, you will most likely earn more one day. I'd say say prenups are more for the poor than the rich. A guy with 10mil is still left with 5mil, a tradie has to move into his mom's basement if you take half.

How do you know it will always be that way? I mean if you are 100% sure your girl wil always earn more than you than I guess it's no big deal, I'd say it's hard to say with certainty that you will no earn more one day, or she may not loose her job.

So in this scenario its mainly a bad deal if you marry a low earning woman, but jakes on you if you did that in the first place right? One can go further into this and win/win if you are male/unemployed and take half her chit.

Some divorce stories are just so depressing. There was a popular XM Radio host who talked about how his wife cleaned out tens of thousands of his savings after they decided to divorce, and he had to pay alimony which increased with his salary. That just makes no fukin sense....

A guy I worked with got taken to the cleaners by his divorce. She took his home, retirement savings, gets alimony, etc... She's now living life on his dime, and is re-married to some other dude.

Funny thing is she's a 2/10 at best.

1.) prenup is worthless unless your spouse gets her own attorney and signs the agreement at least 6 months prior to marriage.
2.) prenup is worthless unless you and the wife keep separate finances, file taxes seperately and don’t co-mingle any assets.

Prenup isn't the answer.

The problem comes in when guys who make good money marry a girl workings as a bank teller making $35k a year. If you're making good money you should marry a woman making good money. If you make $100k find a woman who makes at least $75k.This way, the courts are a lot more fair.
