It involves a lifestyle change for some. There are plenty of people who could swing staying home but choose not to so they can buy new cars every year or two and take lavish vacations. I don't begrudge them at all, they just need to be honest about their choices. "I don't stay home because I want to have nicer stuff" is not the same thing as "I don't stay home because otherwise we can't eat".

I'm not talking about staying home for a decade, just during the crucial developmental years. Kid is headed off to kindergarten at 5. Saving for college, retirement, etc. can all be handled once the kids are through the crucial stage. A real man can support a family for a few years while his woman raises his kid(s)

I used the financially ready excuse for as long as I could. When she started making 6 figures herself, became a tough sell.

Molding =/= forcing or living vicariously through.

More in the line of planting seeds and fostering growth. Which absolutely can be done with children. Hell I do it with adults almost daily.

Let's be honest. How relevant are your grand-parents after they die. How often are they mentioned? What about your great-grands? It seems like a lot of people follow this narrative of keeping your bloodline alive, and keeping evolution going etc. in a weird way like they are somehow becoming immortal and defying death.

Again if you want to have kids then do it, but this random appeal to some ancient blood-line and keeping it going for all of history seems delusional to me. No one gives a fuk about people from over a century ago, let alone several millennia ago. I dont even know the names of my great-grands.
