TFW the hurricane is literally coming over you. This will be my first one of this magnitude here. People are starting to freakout. Everything is looking dreary.
What crazy to me is there will be casualties. We all know its coming.

The power outage for potentially weeks after is the real kick in the nuts, good idea to fill your bathtubs with water beforehand

I'm still on the fence about leaving. Local weather dude said 60% it lands north of us, 40% it lands on us and we're fuked.

Anyone thinking about staying is crazy AF. It's going to be incredibly sunny hot and humid once that thing clears out. There will be rotten chit everywhere, bugs galore and basically landfill conditions given the expected devastation. Roads will be blocked and impassible due to debris so even if you have a working non-flooded car (unlikely) you won't be able to go anywhere. You'll be stuck without power in these conditions for weeks. Cell towers might even be down even IF you have a way to charge your phone. It's a stupid unnecessary risk. There are places inland that will take in people for free (or cheap) if you have no friends etc.
Also if you stay and need rescue you're part of the problem and may get stuck with a huge bill for your rescue if you're in an evacuation zone.
Be smart and GTFO.

Time to have my yearly hurricane party where all my family and friends from the coast evacuate to up here (all from Charleston where it floods like a sob). My one friend says he's staying no matter what though, he's got a tortoise in his yard, 6 guinea pigs, and 2 dogs I guess he's willing to go down with the ship with in order to look after. He wasn't living there yet when hurricane Charlie hit so he doesn't realize how real chit can get.
Height/Weight: Undisclosed to prevent possible triggering.
