I can't stand Instagram. At least ******** you can post an interesting article and get feedback about it from your friends. Instagram is only photos and videos that you can only view and add comments on you phone and not your computer. It's so much easier to see chit on your computer.

Plus photos and videos only just breeds narcissistic and sociopath behavior

Instagram doesn't have to be a cancer. It's quite useful if you follow topics you actually like. Mine is filled with family and friends, heaps of animals (dogs especially), food, sports and the occasional hottie.

My fav however is dogs, so much cuteness.

I don't understand the hate, if you don't like it, don't use it.

I do get how it can be annoying when you waiting in line at a tourist attraction (I've travelled around the world, and encountered this) and you get people taking 10000 pictures and taking ages.

But still, I don't hate, each to their own.

Follow animals and dogs on instagram, you won't regret it.

I’ve been social media free for a month and it feels refreshing to not stare at my phone all day. With that said, social media is mostly about trying to show off. It all depends what you want to get out of it

I think every social media app has a use, but they're all horrible as well in other ways. Snapchat is by far the worst I've seen. All the content is such pointless trash. *******s gawking into their cameras trying to look thugged out with bottles of Hennesy lip-synching to mumble rap, or sloots pursing their lips and tilting their head back and forth and adjusting their facial expression while staring into the camera with some stupid filter applied. I can't imagine recording that sort of content, watching it back, and going"This is gold. I gotta post this!"

Snapchat's messaging also just seems like a "Cover your track infidelity app!" I won't date a girl that uses Snapchat, just some casual bangs. Same any time I start seeing a girl and notice she's on that "What's App" app. That's just a dick solicitation app for her, it's gotta be. Why would a girl need multiple methods to contact people discreetly? Unless she's dealing crack? One girl I was seeing even had a burner phone. What kind of shady sh!t requires a burner phone? B1tch was probably an escort.

Social media is the catalyst of a lot of society's woes.

My wife takes pictures of us and our daughter all the time because that's what women do. I'd smash her computer to a billion pieces if she ever thought once about putting that crap on Instagram; it's bad enough when she shares a picture privately on ********. Social media is cancer. Brah I follow all sorts of people on social media, whether it's IT, photography, music etc...these people aren't posting really personal stuff. I'm not into posting family pics etc on Social media. I'm not even on ******** anymore but I do look at stuff on instagram particularly for career/hobby stuff.

Point is it's subjective, it's not all black and white and if someone wants to share something from their spare time then fair play to them.

If someone has taken pics of a vintage Les Paul guitar from the 50s that they bought then yeah I wanna see it...doesn't mean they're attention whoring, it's just mutual interests.

Point is you have a choice with what you post and what you view, if someones posting stuff people want to see then what's the problem???

Yes it does. If I got a new Les Paul, I'd for sure send a picture to my buddies. Putting it on social media such as Instagram moves beyond "hey, look, this is cool" into the realm of vying for attention from complete strangers. If you need to validate your existence by the opinions of anons on the Internet, you probably don't have any real friends or any actual self-worth.

So if for example, I follow a guitar tech/musician who restores vintage guitars then they are vying for attention? When I see how they re-fretted it or added a bigsby tremelo arm to it that's vying for attention? Or is it me learning how to do it myself? Maybe we should ban all people with similar interests sharing knowledge and experience?
