Would that mean you have a loaded gun sitting somewhere out of your immediate reach and control if you ever take your coat off?

Oh, look. The poors are at it again.
Yeah i read a little more into it, i can comfortably conceal a g19, so i figured a vp9sk would be even easier. Only issues im seeing are the size to capacity.

Also when you guys have to dress more formal or business casual are you guys just using pocket holsters and something smaller like a g43 ?

You are looking to pick up your first firearm...and already know what size pistol you can legitimately conceal for regular carry? Is this real life?

What kind of formal? If you have a jacket, more can be concealed. For a tucked dress shirt without anything over it, a sub compact or maybe compact double stack (like a VP9SK) can be done, but you'll want a good belt and holster combo with velcro lining and v-clips to avoid the visible hooks on the belt that some people will recognize

I currently carry an XD9 sub compact (Mod2.0 w/ Grip ZoneTM), which is what I'm looking to replace with the VP9sk. It's also a double stack sub compact. I dress business casual for most days of work, but don't actually carry in the office usually. If I go out and want it on me, it usually conceals well enough with my shirt tucked in over it (appendix carry). The clip is obviously visible over the belt, but meh.

More of a hunting coat, because my hunting holster gets caught on brambles and whatnot fairly easily

Picking things up, tying your shoes, general real world movements...these things happen in real life. If it prints when you do those things it isn't truly concealed. That might be fine for you. If you are okay with observant people recognizing that you might possibly have a gun, that's fine. But if you intend to prevent even observant people from thinking that maybe you have a gun, or carry in a so called NPE (non permissive environment) where there might be rules against carrying a gun...that's a different story and printing may very well give away the game.

I had a Sigtac jacket for years with built-in holsters. Basically looked like a Carhart jacket. It doesn't have a suspension system at all, so the pistol felt like a boat anchor and took forever to draw. Keep telling myself that I'm going to throw my old body armor panels into the panels instead and make it a covert way to wear armor.
