If she could even manage a 15kg women's bar I'd be surprised.

At her peak she hit 135 x 3 (2 clean, 1 with a little help from me spotting).

She hasn't really lift in over a year though, so probably not anywhere close to that now.

She used to bench some with me. Think the bar was it. But shes really thin in the shoulder/arm region with fake boobs. So I don't think she will get much chest gain so she was never into it much.

Mine did 110 x 5 weighing about 125lb without really training that hard. She would train consistently for a month or so but then give up for 3 or 4 months, then repeat. I'm sure if she trained consistently she could be pretty strong but life (working shifts mainly) always gets in the way.

It makes me lol when I see girls who train regularly, and have all the powerlifting gear (shoes, belt etc) but don't lift proper weight. There's one girl who is always training at the same time as me but she's been squatting less than 100lb for about a year. She has a powerlifting coach who gives her some periodised training program. My gf hit 180 x 10 atg within a year of inconsistent training, just following some basic linear progression template. (3 sets of 10, 3 times a week - increase by 1kg each session)
Best lifts:
Olympic Squat: 410 x 5
Bench Press: 420 @
Strict Press: 225 x 5
Body Weight: 180

I have to agree with this. I'm pretty surprised that someone who lifts consistently would be put down. Not everyone is out for 1 RM's and PR's and trying to go as heavy as they can. She's also not on here like EOD is whining about her physique. Him I can understand being hassled, not SS.

My lifts are all poverty, but I bust my ass doing what I can. Who wants to come make fun of me?

Because you haven't been progressing at all in 3 yrs. How can you not even add 5lbs in 3 years? You're either not trying at all or just stupid. Probably both though

That's not the point though.

The purpose of lifting isprogression. All serious lifters know that you have to 1) increase reps and/or 2) increase weight to continue seeing changes in your body. This applies to ALL lifts. I'm surprised she's stuck on said (major) lift for 5 years. O_o

Maybe she doesn't give a crap about progressing on bench press. Not everyone wants to work on the same things.

Then why train it? You can achieve the same doing DB Butterflies or something similar. I'd be surprised if she even knows which muscles she's trying to work through bench.

I hope she's not applying the same logic to her lifts.

I've bench pressed in the past before my injury and it wasn't to get PR's. Not everyone is out to hit max lifts. Some people lift to just stay in the shape they're in and to be active. Why put someone down because they don't have the same goals as you? She's still lifting and being active which is something to applaud what with all the people her age who sit on the couch every night watching tv and stuffing their faces.

If someones not complaining about their physique and lifts because they enjoy it, I see no need to try to school them.

Sure, that's all fine. Who said anything about PRs? But progression is mandatory for strength gains / body transformation.

I can't explain this any more clearly...

I understand your point, but not everyone is trying to progress. Some people have gotten to where they are happy with their physique and they just want to maintain. You don't always have to progress. Also, maybe she's focusing on progressing on something else and just doesn't GAF about benching.

Solid lifts.

My wife's numbers are pretty similar. I may post vids when she competes this winter (if she lets me).

Mrs Beer refused to get into it but on one of the very few occasions I got her to bench, she did something like 55lbs for 8 reps, 3 sets.

Most I've seen a girl do is sets of 8 on 135lbs. It's an office workers gym though so it's not like a bunch of powerlifters hang out there.

I agree with everything you said in here. I had a back surgery almost two years ago so I also have my limits to how much weight I can lift. I have very little jelly left between my L5/S1. Some days I just lift for fun.

Das it! Rotator cuff repair here and my knees are f'd anymore. I still lift and I still work hard doing what I can. I'm never going to beat any records but who cares? I'm certainly not interested in competing again. I get my endorphins and keep my body the way I want it with what I'm doing. That's a win/win in my book.

I am going to bench tonight doe. I just want to see what I can do out of curiosity.

Not GF but chick that lifts at our gym in the AM sometimes is crazy strong. She can get 135 for I think 8 or so.

She is 5'11 and has hips and shoulders for days. Her squat is even more impressive, 240 for 10.

You know, I started lifting when I was 17 years old. Here I am at 49 still doing it. Why? Because I love it. I really truly love it. I want to inspire other people to start lifting and love it as much as I do. If you're in their face telling them how they're doing it all wrong because they're not doing exactly what you (general you) do, then you're not going to be inspiring people to want to lift. You're going to make them think we're all a bunch of a-holes. There is so much great knowledge and motivation to be had here, but sometimes that knowledge is given in the entirely wrong way and that's a real shame.
