I believe Val Kilmer's looks went downhill before the cancer I could be wrong. But he was at least fat before it.

Rourke is one of my favorite actors. He's always looked manly, like a real man's badass to me. Maybe due to the roles he's been.

I don't think the Micky Rourke before and after is very fair compared to the others. Micky got heavy into boxing and was getting his face beat in on the regular which lead to much of the drastic change in his face, followed by bad plastic surgery.

The guy that dropped off the hardest was Brendan Fraser. Felt bad for him cause it sounded like he had some fuked up stuff happen IRL.

I'd still argue that men age better if we're going by celebrities, but I think that's because men in the industry aren't going to get all these crazy ass plastic surgeries that make them look like freaks (except Mickey Rourke who looks like a plastic freak). Don't get me wrong, I'm sure these guys get some work done, but they're not going to get lip fillers and 5 million rounds of botox and 3 different nose surgeries to look young again. Examples: Megan Fox, Kardashians (all of them), Christina Aguilera.

The women in the industry imo that still look good are the ones that appear to not have had 5 million surgeries. Maybe some minor ones here and there, but nothing too extraordinary. Think Jenn Aniston, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Connely.

That's why I didn't use Brendan Fraser as an example. Doesn't he have major health issues? I know someone used an example of an actress that now has MS last week to show a decline. I think that's pretty chitty. I also didn't know that Val Kilmer had cancer, but I don't think being fat has anything to with that and as Deathstroke said upthread pretty sure Val got fat before the cancer.

Burgerburger pls........... Let's be real tea. Both men and women who are in their 40's and up who look good are outliers. We can all find plenty of examples of people who went to chit as they aged. Like I said before upthread, go outside and have a look around. If someone has lived a healthy lifestyle, exercised throughout their life, eat healthy and don't do drugs, smoke or drink to excess they're going to look better in their 40's+ than the majority of that age range.

The secret to good looks when older are literally based off several factors :


- Genetics. Self explanatory

- Sun damage. This can be prevented by the use of sunscreen and avoiding the sun for excessive time periods.

- Limited use of drugs/smoking/alcohol. All of these things will age you or at least have somewhat of a long term impact on your physical appearance if done on a consistent basis.

- Skin care routine

- Diet. Your skin reflects what you eat and drink.

- If you get treatment done to you like all of Hollywood, which will set you back a few k.

- Maintaining a low body fat %. A lot of people have a higher body fat when older due to the lack of care regarding their physical appearance and slowing metabolism.


Do these things, and you will age better than 99% of the population.
