Nobody even tried to form an argument... Like they couldn't say forget your national statistics, let's talk about the culture in prison, Hollywood, frats, etc?
They got little baby legs that stand so low
you got to pick 'em up just to say hello.

If he wants to battle the indoctrination, why not debate the college professors teaching this to the kids? Why not call them out for a public debate?

Dude @ 40:20 calls him out on his method. Throughout his discussion with Crowder, he kept saying that he disagrees with the way he has gone about it, because he believes he's being intentionally provocative. Crowder keeps trying to dodge that, and tries to drag the kid into a debate that he repeatedly says he doesn't want, and isn't prepared for.
If they are so infantile and unable to understand anything, then why do we send them to college? Why do we trust them with anything? Why are these places considered prestigious if they are teenagers? More importantly, why do we allow them to vote and influence the nation on these very subjects?

lol if you think the professors will go out there. World's biggest frauds. They have literally nothing to gain and everything to lose by going out there. Leftism is pushed via narrative control, not empirical data or factual information. At the end of the day, Crowder leaves campus and they get to continue the programming.

"Doesnt want, isnt prepared for" Then why go out there? All of these kids think they are smart. Why not put it to the test? How long before they can debate Crowder? What age? How many years of study?

The detractors in this thread have used several words to describe Crowder in this video. I noticed that 'wrong' is not one of the ones used.

Seems to be the majority of people here are upset that he is debating college students? Really...

The place that is supposed to be the bastion of free speech, open debate, and having competing ideas thrown your way...

But thats not the spot to debate about 'rape culture'?

LOL.

And (presumably) knowing all of the above, he makes posters saying"Rape Culture is a myth. Change my mind."

Not...

"Let's discuss rape culture."

"I want to debate, about rape culture."

He makes a statement that the subject is a myth, in order to trigger in impulsive teenagers a desire to debate (the brain doesn't fully mature until 25, Crowder is 31).

It works for him, he goes viral... This video has gone viral, with him putting a thumbnail of a self proclaimed rape victim getting emotional. I don't think the dude cares about anything but his views, though I could be wrong but I think his was one of the right wing media outlets that Blaire White called out as only being after views...

(Skip to 8:00 for where she starts to talk about right wing media practices, that she's experienced.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7Ft2E_ibxQ
why would he say "lets discuss rape culture" when he doesn't believe rape culture exists (it doesn't, at least according to the definition he uses, which is the definition that is commonly taught in academia etc etc)

Either way, these students have the opportunity to discuss and rationalize their views, but the fact is the people who chose to come and talk with him do a ****ty job of rationalizing their own views. the one dude even said his views are "too nuanced to articulate". That is just a cheap cop out. Their views aren't too nuanced to articulate...they are just **** views that don't stand the test of logic. That is why not a single person had any convincing argument that we live in a culture here in the United States the supports or tolerates rape.

And if you don't follow Crowder closely, he has discussions with a wide demographic of people...from college students all the way to college professors with their PhDs. He's not "just praying on teenagers" as others have tried to claim in this thread.

Good points. This one kid called him out on Crowder having his "book of facts" while the kids are coming up unprepared. What would be interesting if he posted dates and topics ahead, so that interested college kids could prepare themselves the same way Crowder can.

Someone in this thread pointed out that it looks kinda like a montage clip of a bad CS player.

The idea of having rational discourse is a great one, but it seems Crowder is more interested in showing "dumb liberals" than actually having a debate. Otherwise he would have to acknowledge the fact that him coming prepared while his opponents aren't is obviously giving him an edge regardless of the quality of his arguments.

The only thing funnier then watching the people get mad there are watching the people get mad over this on the internet.

I would assume a few of the reasons why he goes to a college for this is:
a lot of the SJWs are college students
a lot of students are far leftists
colleges are meant to be a place of debate and learning as well as getting outside of your comfort zone with people of polarizing opinions
views from emotionally unstable far leftists when they break down

The last guy does bring up a few good points. The whole concept of the booth is a very one sided discussion since it is impromptu for the campus but known to Crowder. A lot of debates are simply won based on preparation. On that same note with how active a lot of these college SJW's are, it is fair to assume that if they are willing to step up to the booth they would have some solid knowledge in what they are going to defend. But as we all know if any conservative goes to talk at a college it gets protested. It would be cool if he announced when/where/what before he goes to give some people time to collect their thoughts, but it would turn out wayyyy worse than just showing up. There wouldn't be any rational discussions.

I would agree there isn't a rape culture and that it is looked down upon by the masses. But you would have to be ridiculously stubborn to not admit it is tolerated to an extent in certain areas. A key note on that is that it isn't tolerated by the general population, but is tolerated by someone in power. A big area would be in college sports, there is so much sht that gets swept under the rug and hidden so these athletes can potentially bring a W to the school.

Exactly. These same students would sign a petition and the cucked admins would pull the invite or permit. These are the best ways to get it done. Spontaneously.

Exactly. Not to mention these are universities!! Supposed to be THE place for debate. While Crowder is not /my guy/, this series just exposes the idea that a very large percentage of college students have absolutely no business being there. Just empty vessels riding the coattails of infinitely superior humans who built these institutions.

dude called him out on his book of facts but crowder didnt even use any of those facts. He didn't even have to. I also find it kind of funny that you are faulting crowder for "preparing" to have a discussion. We should all prepare and think rationally about the views we have. Especially if you are going to make a sign, like that particular student who "called out" crowder on having a book of facts. Don't go walk in a protest if you don't even know what you are standing for.

In the United States, we have the right to free speech. You can use your free speech to your advantage, like crowder, or it can be used to expose your lack of critical though, like that student who decided to sit down with crowder. That student was bashing crowder for his method of delivering his message, but he offered no other solution on how he could better have a discussion. His one idea was for Crowder to become a professor if he wanted to spread his views, as if professors are the only people who should be able to share an opinion. I suggest that you read "Intellectuals and Society" by Dr. Thomas Sowell to understand just how stupid that view is.

But problem is - the leftists have successfully branded certain VALID and innocuous conservative values as bigoted. Simply demanding evidence on rape culture is now offensive. Libtardism 101.

Luckily my college isn't as cucked as this. Have had a couple political/culture debates go smoothly. And I'm always one that can separate person and politics.

He didn't use the book but he obviously took time to prepare it. I am not saying he should not be preparing and neither am I saying he should not seek discourse. What I am saying is that him not acknowledging the obvious fact that he has an advantage by preparing and knowing the topic of the debate ahead of time, he gives of the impression that a fair debate is not his main objective. A fair debate would give both parties roughly the same time to prepare. No matter what your views are, I am pretty sure you'd be able to articulate your argument way more clearly if you were allowed some time to prepare. This is all I am saying.

To understand where you are coming from: do you think his main objective is understanding the other sides way of thinking and showing them his or do you think he mainly wants to show off?
I think he enjoys winning arguments more than he enjoys convincing people.

Thanks for the book recommendation, I will look at it. All talks of Sowell I've seen so far were pretty good.

I agree with all this.

A college is the best place to have this discussion imo, its where your ideas are supposed to be challeenged and debated. They kids are children, have been molded and fed bs for years at this point. I think its great to get them to question their beliefs, what better time than when theyre young and not 40 and dead set in their ways?

I enjoyed the video, it shows what rational people in this country are up against.

Also, to those against the pop up table approach, he has to do it that way. If he shceduled it beforhand the SJWs would riot and sit in to get it shutdown before it even statred. Weve all seen the trend of what they do to conservative guests now, would never work for him.

He knows his argument and his stance ahead of time because that is what he believes in....ALL THE TIME. What is the excuse of the other side to not know WHY they believe something they believe in and be able to support it? I wouldn't go around telling everyone "Meat is murder" and then when you ask me why I believe that I give you a blank stare and talk about how bad it makes me feel. If I did, I'd be just as bad as the leftists who use the Daily Show as their sole news source and have a never-ending series of catch phrases like "collusion" and "credible witness" and no idea what the actual issue was.

What does that say about that state of our educational institutions?

Crowder even admits that he's not incredibly well informed or a great debater, but most liberals just spit out the same 5 soundbite arguments spewed to them by twitter, CNN, and their professors that are incredibly easy to debunk with simple google searches, peering into the studies they're based on, or have taken a highschool speech class which covers the basic fallacies.

It's so easy that he wrote a book with the blueprint so anybody can do it lol.

ALSO:
1. Crowder doesn't use the book of facts for himself, it's for people who want to call bull**** on his sources and see for themselves. He has a standing rule not to refer to any notes or statistics to keep things fair, and actually lets other people look up sources on the fly despite that. In general, he usually waits until after the discussion to open the book period.
2. Crowder does change my mind with adults too. The results are almost the same.
3. Lol at thinking its unfair because "He gets to prepare!!!" If you don't know what you're talking about, then maybe you shouldn't be screaming explatives at someone for disagreeing with you on an subject you aren't even well informed in, and then having the misplaced courage to try to educate HIM on why HE'S wrong.
4. Crowder offers to debate professors who actually claim to be experts at the topic. Most just p*ssy out and cry about it on twitter, the ones who do debate on his channel also often use the same misplaced arguments as people on the street.

I agree with you that a person who is more prepared will have an advantage. That is just common sense lol. I still think you might be a little confused on what the change my mind series is about. It is not a debate. it is meant to be an unedited discussion in full length, in contrast to the edited sound bites that we here regularly on the news and on many other talk shows.

I think the objective of the segment is simple; for someone to change Steven's mind on a view that he has put some serious critical thought into. You can either sit down and talk with him, or chose not to. Crowder has sat down with a lot of people that push their views onto others. Off the top, I can remember change my mind where he had a discussion with a transgender person running for a political office. He also had another discussion with a President of a LGBT club at school. I think the subject for both discussions was "there are only two genders". I think you and I would both hope that a person running for political office and a president of a school club would have put some serious critical thought into the views they are advocating for, but what happened in those discussions was an intellectual and logically smashing. But you can go and watch the segments and decide for yourself!

So yes, I do agree that people would be able to articulate their arguments better if they had more time to prepare, but Crowder has already debated plenty of people who had plenty of time to prepare, so i think the point you are making is moot. And to clarify, the object isn't to change the mind of the person who chooses to sit down and talk with crowder, it is for the person who chooses to sit down and talk with crowder to change his mind. That is an important distinction to make.

I would also agree that steven does enjoy "winning". I know I enjoy watching him "win" and I also enjoy him exposing the lunacy of the political left. Of course, I am a little biased but I readily admit that.

-Crowder is a moron!
-This is unfair because Crowder is more knowledgeable about the subject vs students who are actually studying to be in this field!

This.

These people are so outraged about something they don't even properly understand to begin with. Then they try to change somebody's viewpoint on it which is totally ridiculous.

He's not randomly picking people on the street and blindsiding them live on TV with a mic in their faces. He's sitting down at a table and people voluntarily join him to have discourse.

There is no "preparation". There is being well informed on a subject and not. If you are going to be publicly vocal about your opinions on something, you should know the other side's point of view equally as well if not even better.
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.
