Wonderful gesture. The man has a big heart. It's one thing for an athlete to donate money, raise money for charity, etc. but to roll up the sleeves and give your time like that shows you care about the people around you.

Fed fukking around again... wins first set 6-3... loses the 2nd 2-6....
Joker crushes the Italian and Zverev spanks Di Minaur too. Surprising.

He'd never lost a set to him before so I was joking that he gave him one out of sympathy.
Would still be struggling to find his confidence after throwing away matches he should have won this year but he's still in the draw and with Delpo out he'd like his chances of reaching another final.

Will be interesting to see if Djokovic takes a WC into Basel or Vienna. And will Nadal follow him?
If he wins Shanghai he will trail Nadal by only 215 points. Federer's only chance of staying #2 is to win Shanghai and hope Zverev beats Djokovic in the semis.
Would be an interesting end to the year if all 3 had over 7000 points with 2500 up for grabs in Paris and ATP Finals but being realistic it's pretty much a two horse race at this stage.

Federer gets shafted since his best surface has a big fat 0 Masters.
He's also the most successful indoor player since the 90s and there's only one indoor Masters, Paris, which has been slowed down to almost clay like pace. It's not my imagination — the data is there.

And before you get on my case about nut hugging Federer I'm just pointing out when it comes to Masters stats Nadal has an advantage with 3 on his best surface. Surely you won't deny that.

Guess Djokovic's 23 HC masters don't count since that is his best surface! Off HC he only has 9 as well, but lets just mention Nadal's off clay record because its the only argument that people can bring up against him. just lol

HC is the most competitive surface so for sure I rate Djokovic the better Masters player than Nadal not to mention he has the full set. It's not even close. Nadal's record indoors is poor while Novak is not far off Federer there.

It’s a circus in here when the mental gymnastics begin to diminish Nadal’s accomplishments.
“Transfer just one of those clay masters and Federer pulls ahead”.
“No one said his clay master don’t count only that his Gail of masters is clay heavy and that helps his stats”.
“HC is the most competitive surface”.
Just lmao.

24/33 Masters on clay. Not even a third won on HC. How is that not clay heavy?
There are no grass Masters for the best grass player to pad his stats with. But let's pretend 3 on clay and 0 on grass doesn't give Nadal a big advantage there.
HC is the most competitive surface. "just lol" if you think otherwise.

Only a Nadal fan could think clay was more competitive than HC. "just lol"
Funny how Nadal's only losses on clay this past couple of seasons were to a guy who can't win jack chit off clay and he's now considered the second best claycourter yet on HC Nadal has lost to Querrey, Shapovalov, Kyrgios, Goffin, and Cilic — hardly the cream of the crop.
But somehow it's not more competitive. "lmao"

Before Nadal came along, clay was pretty competitive with nobody really dominating (Borg aside). Nadal has just made it look easy because he is so good on that surface.
"But Federer didn't feast on a weak era, he was so much better than Hewitt and Roddick!"
"But Sampras was an amazing fast court player!"
"Nadal is only good because of clay!"
Just hilarious.

Face it, it was competitive but it's a clown show these days. Take away Thiem's clay points and where's he ranked?
Compare 1993-2003 with 6 different RG finalists from Spain to 2004-2018 with one guy winning 11 and a solitary runner-up appearance by David Ferrer. It was competitive. Nadal makes it look easy because he's got it easy.

"Take away Thiem's clay points and where's he ranked?"
Total points: 3825
Clay points: 2510
----------------------
3825 - 2510 = 1315
Wouldn't even be Top 30 if he skipped clay. And that's Rafa's strongest competition.
I know you're dealing with some serious cognitive impairment but surely you can see how much of a joke clay is these days.
Federer skips the entire clay season and he's No. 2.
Thiem skips clay and he's not even Top 30.

I can see Fed losing to Coric to duck Djoker.
Zverev also has the ability to take Djoker out, at least in Masters. But it's hard to see Djoker losing at this point, he's motivated to end as YE#1.
I think Fed has realized he's very unlikely to get YE#1, so he's gonna take it easy, and see how he fares in Paris and the ATP final.
Prediction: Djoker v Coric final, Djoker in straight sets.

Federer played well today hitting 40+ winners in 2 sets and got the BH going like 2017 for 12 winners. Definitely room for improvement with the serve.
Novak looked average all week in Cincy with 3 setters every round and turned it on for the final. I could see that happening again but who knows, maybe Zverev will push him while Federer could have an easy win over Coric.
I still think Federer can win this.

I know you're easily triggered but the reality is hard court is the equalizer. Subtract their best surfaces, clay and grass respectively and...
11 HC slams to 4.
21 HC Masters to 9.
Federer is the more complete player by a mile.
Nadal has never defended a title off clay.
Nadal has never won the ATP Finals.
Nadal has never dominated for more than a season. 2008. 2010. 2013. In fact there is no "Nadal era." Too inconsistent.

You've completely missed the point. You pointed that Nadal only won so many RG because the competition sucked.
So that means Federer, Djokovic and Murray suck on clay. Just going through it logically. I know its hard for you to understand but try.

I know this might be a difficult concept to get your head around but it's not just about big names in the semis and finals.Of course Nadal is close to unstoppable by that stage as Djokovic and Federer found out. However strong competition tests these guys out in the early rounds when they're more vulnerable and that can drain them going into the second week.
2011 first round Nadal was taken to 5 sets (6-4) by John Isner. Against a clay specialist and not a servebot who has never won chit on clay he possibly loses that match.
Name one clay specialist capable of winning RG with Nadal absent.Thiem? Bueller??? That's how weak the competition is. In the past you could list a bunch of players. That's why Nadal is licking his lips every clay season — it's a cakewalk to the final.

Interesting how Federer and Djokovic never had a 5 year stretch in their prime where they were knocked out in the first week of the French.

Why did it happen to Nadal? Lukas Rosol. Steve Darcis. 19yo Kyrgios. Dustin Brown. Throw in Gilles Muller for good measure. All made to feel like heroes for a day against a 2x Wimbledon champ.
The reality is even with a pathetically short 4 week season the competition is stronger on grass. There is a greater chance of an upset against servebots and even a guy playing challengers like Dustin Brown who can roll the dice slapping the ball around hoping for the best.
It rarely happens on clay. Even Federer playing like garbage in 2013 when every man and his dog was pumping him still made the QF.
Cliffs: the competition on clay has been weak sauce for a long time.
