Trying to time the market is a horribly foolish decision. The expected value is negative a vast majority of the time, and negligible at best. You're not smarter than Warren Buffet, trust me.

The rental market lags behind, and where I live, it's $3k+/mo for any place not full of crackheads. That eats into my potential gains really fast.

I've noticed the housing market slow down a bit this summer. I had a condo on the market for 2 months in this area before june, you would get cash offers and more than asking price but I noticed it slow down

With the tech boom and increase in the labor force here, people will continue to move here so I could sell myself short by not being patient. Maybe 10 years down the road I could get a mil

I don't want to sell an asset but if market is going downwards I might need to consider it and walk away with over 200k.

I generally agree with Warren B on most things, but I'm not really talking about day or swing trading. This is a long term, macro level trend with big flashing neon signs pointing to recession. I think this is one of those rare times when it's appropriate to anticipate and prepare for a tropical tornado.

well thats what they say anyways- is the 6% yield rate. i actually had 10 dollars in cash in my tsfa and after a week or two i had 12.19. was confused by the math because i originally deposited $1.5k.

Son, day trading is where you actuallywantto time things. This is advice for long term investing.

I suggest you open an Excel workbook and start calculating expected values for long term investing and market timing.

It's all pretty fukken obvious

Fed slams rates and puts a bunch of chit on its balance sheet to increase liquidity to bail us out of the last recession, new, ever bigger bubbles are formed, inflation starts to rise, fed slams rates, bubbles pop

The markets are a confidence game ponzi scheme as always, filled with fools with a goldfish memory

Housing already peaked. I'm looking forward to buying a foreclosure or two (my primary residence will have no note next summer) in a few years at the bottom. I lol hard at at people buying houses now

Bubbles formed in equities, and as a result of credit card debt, student loan debt, mortgage debt, corporate debt, municipal, state and federal debt

So many 401ks and pension funds are going to be annihilated. The emerging markets are doomed. The petrodollar isn't going to survive this next crash, nor is the dollar's reserve status. Starting a trade war right now is an insane kamikaze tactic

Corps drove all their tax cut money into buybacks, which shouldn't even be legal

I love where this chit is headed srs

So if I have 10k with a robo advisor do I take it out now? Or just let it sit for 10 years, because thatโ€™s what I planned to do anyway. I have 300$ a month auto deposits into it.

However I am down -$600 or so my principle

Everything's been in the red for the past month, why not wait until the market is starting to get consistently in the green again and then invest? That's exactly what Im going to do, everyone says buy now but no one will ever explain to me what's wrong with my plan.

Real Estate market is turning hard right now in Portland. Im recommending all my sellers to sell ASAP and all my buyers to hold off from making a purchase unless they're okay potentially being upside down in a couple of years.

We've had a solid wave brahs. Stack cash now and profit later.
Portland brah here, can absolutely confirm. Chit is crazy, fugly homes going for 300k at least. Homes only stay on the market for a week on average, too.
