Society produces bad people because they don't suffer

I think to be a good person, you have to suffer and really bad chit has to happen to you. Imagine you're born really rich and attractive. Everyone treats you like a king/queen. You never get any negative reinforcement for anything. You pretty much get sex whenever you want and fuking models for you is similar to how other people fap to random porn. Like imagine just never being told "no". How fuked up would you turn out? There is a reason the best men and women tend to come from hardship and are "down to earth" in a sense. An honest, challenging life creates character. The vast majority of celebs, politicians, etc lack this character. They are selfish people who cannot escape their narcissism because it was fueled and encouraged by our culture.

As children, these days, there isn't much of an emphasis on honor and kindness. Instead, the most glorified trait in our society is wealth. Sexuality and materialistic excesses are both glorified on IG, ********, etc and in the media. The people children look at as role models are generally completely out of control, and many of them are even drug addicts. Basically, our culture has zero discipline. It's a fuking trainwreck. You can chase a dollar or some attractive dink/puss for the rest of your fuking life, but it won't make you a better person. In fact, there is a good chance that it will make you a worse one.

yeah that's why North Korea is best Korea, suffering builds character which inevitably leads to building a strong nation and appreciation of glorious Kim Jong-un.

No - if the parents demonstrate how to be a good person through their own behavior, the child has a good chance of following in their footsteps.

You raise people on suffering, you get people whose entire lives revolve around their own suffering and trauma

Let's be honest. There are plenty of people who have suffered throughout their lives who are also horrible people. Plenty.

Your view stated in the op is quite short sighted tbh.

There's a fine line. Too much can break a person. That's when it is abuse. But the old adage "Spare the rod, spoil the child." is very true imo. Discipline and being told "no" or that you are wrong is essential imo.

I think like everything else in life, genetics is the main factor that makes you good or bad srs.. Your brain chemistry allows you to take a human life without feeling remorse or feel bad if you even kill an insect.. Obviously there are many other factors like environment, traumatic events etc but it's mainly genetics imo

u are probably right but I think you can take a good person and ruin him by only giving him wealth, power, and positive feedback

everyone misbehaves or does something stupid -- especially as a kid while he or she is learning, but if they are not given negative feedback, they may keep doing it, and it could become a problem.

Lol OP....

This guy has it right.

Good parents tend to raise good kids who become productive members in society.

Bad parent(s) made bad decisions and are in no position to properly raise a child or in many cases, children. These children face much more abuse and adversity and tend to follow in their parents footsteps and continue the cycle.

I agree, but negative feedback is part of being a good parent. You have to discipline and punish bad behaviors and reward good ones. If you don't, your kid might never learn the right way.

I agree that suffering is the basis of character development, if it's self imposed or otherwise. However often it can go the other way and personality disorders/coping mechanisms can arise especially with Childhood trauma.

So it either makes someone a better person or a much worse person, bit of a gamble if you ask me.

Are you a good person, Wincel?

Nah. People make problems out of life cause were a needs based species, which stems from food

Hunger is a "problem" that always needs fixing, and that carries over to other facets

So, ipso facto, even if perfect, you create problems

IDK anymore man. I try to be, and I was for most of my life. But my empathy for humanity is starting to really disappear, and sometimes I go places mentally which are basically not ok by social or even legal standards. Probably not gonna be a very good person eventually. Lol...I expect to completely lose my mind in a few yrs.

As soon as you lose empathy you lose all humanity, don't go down that path.

Are you srs btw??? What is it that is making you lose empathy for humanity?

Are you sure you aren't being melodramatic, I'm sure if you saw someone struggling or in pain you'd empathize and help them, perhaps it's just your worldcentric view of humanity rather than individual humans???

Wealth and sex has always trumped in life. It's just now it's available to see by everyone anywhere anytime.

But yeah, certainly hardship creates character, that's not groundbreaking.

Naw man. I used to care about people, and I really don't feel anything anymore for them. The only people I even feel any real compassion for these days are incels, disabled people, and young children. Even then, I am starting to see kids as the spawn of those who biologically succeeded where I failed.

There's plenty of "good" people who are coddled and haven't been through much adversity. I think a better term is: to be a "well-rounded" person.

It's not like you learn good manners from having life kick the chit out of you and rising up. You develop other advantageous character traits, though.

I guess it's because it's the truth. Empathy for other people only makes logical sense if the collective helps you survive and reproduce. If it doesn't, it would no longer be rational to have empathy.

Maybe not manners, but because you lived it, you tend to be more humbled and accepting of others' strife.
