I work in a neighborhood with a marked pickup truck and I still get strange looks. In fact, I have to be careful about how long I sit in an area to avoid what just happened to OP. We live in a dangerous world and people are within their right to be weary of strangers in their area.

You goofed OP, but you were in a bad mood. Learn from it, be careful, and watch that gas tank.

if you weren't directly in front of his house you didn't owe the guy an explanation IMO. and he certainly didn't need to hit you with follow-ups about your daughter's age and health. what on earth is that about. if he's so concerned he can call the police, not play detective.

It's not that we are claiming to be of "Irish" "Scottish" or "Italian" nationality. In the US those terms are used to define which ethnic group you are a part of.
