Is it really against the law to put something in someone's mailbox there? That's insane. Handmail a note and that's not OK, put the note in an envelope with a stamp and that's all good?

no, i remember chatting with the kid about his pupper and his dad's porsche. no one else couldve known that. thing is he was well-spoken, polite and didnt seem weird.

Because he's probably a member of teen misc and socially awkward or better yet maybe he thought he had a better chance of getting a response if you thought it was a girl.

Who knows. Sometimes I think my two teen boys are from a different planet.

I wouldn't make a big deal out of it and if you have some projects throw him some work.

What's his dad like? Is he some computer/office nerd?

If so the kid might be genuinely looking to learn some masculine tasks.

The only reason I'd get the dad involved is if you decide to use the kid then send his dad some kudos.

this chit is always fuked up. I once had some girl down the street leave me a note like that. Wrote "call me!" but didn't leave a number. Best part was it was written in pink crayon. No joke. She was 14.

I knew the girl too and she was one of those absolute chit teenage girls. Single parents household, would cuss her mom out in public, sneak out to smoke (would stand near my place, too...) and her mom was always talking about sending her to some bootcamp type of place. And yes the girl kept staring at me whenever she saw me. In hindsight I should have kept the note incase she comes back someday and says I touched her.

So yeah you dodged a bullet, OP. This kidmight beis obviously a real flamer but it could have been a lot worse.
