Were the Beatles really all that great, fellas?

I know they had a lot of hits and stuff, but how much of that was just a result of horny young gals hearing those fancy accents, laying eyes on those stylish haircuts and sogging up their stinky little panties something nasty? Am I out of line here, fellas? Maybe I am. I'm not too well-versed on the Beatles. Looking back, I never understood the God-like worship everyone has for these wipes. Lets be honest here, does anyone think for even one second that Yellow Submarine was a good song? Would it still have been a hit if any other group released it? Doubt it. I highly doubt it. Stick the Bee Gees name next to it and see how well it does. They would've been the laughing stock of the industry. And really, the same could be said for most of the Beatles library. It's very easy to churn out hit after hit when millions of gals are plunging their bogs to you every night. Fantasizing about your hair. Doesn't even matter what you sing at that point. The bogs will be plunged regardless. Am I wrong on this, boys? Maybe I just don't understand it. The whole "Beatlemania" thing.

My generation doesn't listen to them (born in '92). In fact I think most of my generation is more on the hip-hop/rap train

The modern rock riffs you listen to today were bought to life by the guys playing in the 60's.

Try listening to 40's/50's stuff. Its chit.

I enjoy a lot of 60s & 70s music, partner. I think music back then was substantially better than it is today. It's just the Beatles I'm talking about. I never got the appeal.

they're good because they influenced all the bands that came after them. they are your "favorite band's favorite band". considering that they came out in the 60's where the only other music before that was jazz and folk. they were the pioneers of the classic pop sound that's still heard in radios today

The Beatles were some of the most savvy businessmen in music ever. They basically copied Chuck Berry and made billions instead of selling genre-creating songs for $50.

yea no, was brought to life by blues players down in the Mississippi delta back in the 30's. In-fact blues spawned off all other american music, it's the most original form of american music and the GOAT.

and the Beatles did suck, and so did Bob Dylan, fukin harmonica shattering my eardrums ffs

To answer the OP. The Beatles were very talented talented and prolific. I like them in general but they put out some garbage too. They were the most popular group in music history at their peak and will probably never be eclipsed in popularity per capita
The exposure of The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 became a touchstone event for an entire generation and for music lovers everywhere. Never before had so many viewers tuned-in to a live television program, which with 73 million viewers, was three-fourths of the total adult audience in the United States.

They were very talented and had a high output. Also, they were the first absolutely massive pop group in an era which has come and gone. There is no equivalent to the Beatles any more, where you had basically two or three groups and then everyone else, because the music scene is vastly more diverse than it was back then.

The combination of being ground-breaking and incredibly famous in an era where there was hardly anyone else of that stature means that their legacy is secured.

AlsoYellow Submarineis terrible unless you are 6 years old.

I like how the only song you mentioned was Yellow Submarine. You take anything that is universally praised and you'll have some edgelord on the internet claim that it's completely overrated.

It's garbage, my friend. It truly is. Specifically designed to appeal to those suffering from drug-induced retardation. Not even up to Sesame Street standards. No mentally capable adult should view it as anything other than a pile of **** shot out for the sole purpose of profiting off a heavily inflated fanbase. Most of their music falls into that same category.
