So we got about 4 inches of snow yesterday. Weather report said it would warm up above freezing for the rest of the week with sunny weather so I put off putting the chains on the tractor and hooking up the snowblower thinking all the snow would melt.

Wake up this morning to 16 degrees and a forecast of a storm dumping 5-8 inches of snow thursday night through friday

Had to kick around all over the damn place trying to find the tractor chains under the snow, then fighting to get them on by myself. Should have done it when it was 40 degrees and no snow

Any tool people here?

I need an 18v tool kit. Not sure if I should go Milwaukee m18 gen 3 brushless stuff or DeWalt 20v?

Need a drill and driver for sure but I’m interested in the complete line of tools from both. The Milwaukee line seems a bit better put together. The DeWalt line seems more confusing. All these different battery systems and the flexvolt stuff with 60v and 120v tools.

I'm in the maintenance department of a very large company. Almost all the guys have DeWalt 20V or Milwaukee. I have yet to send in a Milwaukee tool for repair......there's a pile of DeWalt stuff waiting to get fixed.

For my personal use, I have the Ryobi One+ stuff. Works fine for casual homeowner use.
The hardest part of a zombie apocalypse will be pretending I'm not excited.

Have both and Ryobi and prefer to use Ryobi generally. Will grab whichever is closest sometimes though.

unless you're using it heavily on a daily basis, ryobi would be fine IMO

if for professional use, I'd go with brushless Milwaukee

edit - rigid used to have lifetime battery replacement though

My dad was a tool hoarder so I’ve had use with all three brands and haven’t had an issue with any. That being said, I’d trust that tradie hartski if he is actually using this stuff on a regular basis.

I have 7-8 year old Ryobi drill that still seems to do fine for casual home use. The circular saw that came with it is complete garbage - doesn't have enough power to get through anything substantial, at least in my extremely limited use.

Agreed, the Ryobi circ saw that came with my kit is underpowered, but the drill, and Sawzawl work fine

To me it all comes down to (1) how much you are willing to spend and (2) what the expected usage will be. If you use the crap out of the tool from a frequency and duration perspective and need it to perform like a pro-grade tool . . . then buy the pro-grade tool (probably Milwaukee in many cases). If all you do is general homeowner level stuff then you may be fine with a Ryobi. Unless you're a general homeowner who also has a lot of disposable income for tools--and pretzels.

any recommendations for leather gun belts? The current belt i have is like a vinyl material but they arent wear able with everything, i have been suing some random normal leather belts when i need to have a more formal belt, but they are kind of flimsy and therefore uncomfortable.

I've been using a Kore leather belt. I ordered a nylon belt too...both interface with the same buckle. It seems to hold up pretty well. It's pretty obvious that it isn't high quality leather (or even real leather) but a casual observer won't really notice that you are wearing a gun belt.

TS-USA Prime makes sense starting at 4 cases/year of centerfire ammo or if you make more than maybe 2 non-case orders/year.
